I just learned recently on Doll Diaries and a few other websites that the American Girl Dolls Samantha and Nellie are being Archived! (or retired, a little different meanings between them though) I am SO sad! Samantha was one of the first dolls made by Pleasant Rowland before Mattel took over, why would they do this? That is exactly what my dolls were thinking too.
They went on a Doll Protest, Protesting against making Samantha and Nellie become archived.
Samantha and Nellie decided to make pick-it signs too.:
Poor Samantha and Nellie. :( I am really being serious in saying that I can't believe American Girl is Archiving 2 Historical American Girl Dolls! It really is unbeliveable! )

Does anyone know if this is a permanent archive or merely a marketing ploy like Disney to keep the prices up? And maybe we can look forward to a return someday???
