It was a beautiful March afternoon and Mia invited Kit and Addy over to her house. She had invited the other girls also, but they couldn't attend.
Kit and Addy arrived at around 3:00 in the afternoon.
"Hi girls," Mia said happily,"guess what we are going on an adventure!"
"Huh? What do ya mean?" Addy asked.
"Well, follow me." Mia said with a hint of a smile on her face.
"Hmmm...where are we going?" Kit said.
"Just a bit farther." Mia answered, she was having a lot of fun with her little secret.
They went up some stairs and then Mia opened a door which lead into....
Her attic?
"Here we are," Mia said very much excited, "sorry it's kind of dim in here we don't have much light except the light from the window."
"You keep your attic really clean Mia." Addy said amazed.
While Addy was saying this, Kit's eyes drifted to a oddly formed shape which was covered with a white cloth.
"What's that?" Kit asked.
"I can say that I don't know, because I really don't. I am not usually allowed up here, but my mom said that we could come up here and explore." Mia finally revealed why she was so excited.
"Can we see what's underneath the sheet?" Addy said to Mia.
"Yep, lets see what's under it..." Mia said as she gently removed the white sheet from the oddly shaped form.
Just as she was taking off the sheet, the sunshine from the octagon shaped window in the attic shone brightly. It gave the attic an eerie feeling.
"Wow, that sun is bright!" Kit said squinting.
Ignoring what Kit just said Mia went up to the objects.
"Whoa, look at this guitar! My mom used to play, but I didn't know she had one!"
They set the guitar aside, and 3 pairs of eyes looked upon the box, which had odd moose on it.
Since Mia was right there, the girls told Mia to open it. For some reason they were all excited...This was quite an Adventure!
She opened it slowly.
The girls crowded around the treasure...well, not really treasure but the contents in the strange box.
"Look at these old fashioned dolls!" Kit exclaimed.
They were very pretty...and there were 3 of them! One for each of them!
Kit handed the dolls to Addy, then she and Mia examined the other contents.
"A purple Etch-a-Sketch." Mia said.
She handed it to Addy, who started to play with it. Hehe.:)
"A stapler?" Kit said, surprised.
"Why would a Stapler be in your attic?" Kit said with a little laugh.
"No clue." Mia said.
"Is there anything else?" Addy asked.
"It doesn't look like there is anything else." Kit said.
"I think there is." Addy exclaimed.
Addy got up from her seat on the floor and layed down the 3 dolls, etch-a-sketch, and stapler.
Addy started to uncover the white satin cloth...
"Those are so cool!" Addy said.
Both Addy and Kit waved their hands, and Mia looked in amazement.
It was dress-up clothes! :)
"We have got to dress up!" Kit said looking through all the clothes.
"Yeah, definitely!" Mia exclaimed.
They all got dressed up...
Kit dressed up as a clown. :)
Addy dressed up as a Baseball player.
Mia dressed up as a princess.
They all sat down and Mia played around on the guitar. The girls giggled and had a fun time!
They got a group photo too! :)
The girls discovered a little bit about the contents in the box from Mia's mother. The guitar did belong to Mia's mom, and the princess dress was her mom's prom dress. The dolls were Mia's great-great grandma's - she used to travel a lot. She got the doll with the gold and red dress from England. The etch-a-sketch and stapler...well, her mom said she didn't really know why those were in there...probably just trying to get them out of the way. :)
Mia, Addy, and Kit definitely did have an adventure...and had a lot of fun while doing it! :)
