I have been reading some of the American Girl mystery books latley, and I thought it would be fun to do a book review of one that I have read! This one is one of my favorites, I love the Molly mysteries!
A Molly Mystery: The Light in the Cellar by: Sarah Masters Buckley Illustrated by: Jean-Paul Tibbles
It is 1944, and Molly McIntire and her English friend Emily are volunteering to be magazine delivery girls at Oak Knoll Hospital. Molly wishes that they had more exciting volunteer jobs that really would help win World War Two. Emily's Aunt is at Oak Knoll Hospital though, and Emily thought it would be nice to visit there as well as help out. At their stay at Oak Knoll things are getting a little sucipicous-things are disappearing from the kitchen like sugar, which is rationed. Including the day before they had passed an old mansion, and Molly had seen a light glowing in the cellar! At least she thought is was a light, was it? Molly and Emily just have to find out!
I love all of the American Girl mysteries, including this one. They are just so fun to read, and by the time you start you will not be able to put it down! They are pretty short mysteries, so I usually read them in only 1-2 days! I would reccommend this book and all the American Girl mysteries to girls 9 and up. :)
Which American Girl Mysteries have you read? :)
