I love Handmade Doll clothing, or as some of you call it doll "couture"! You may have noticed that my doll Addy had a new outfit on for starting back to school. I purchased that from the etsy seller Terristouch in August. Terristouch doll clothing is beautiful and very well made! The dress I got looks so beautiful on Addy! :)
The dress was made for Addy's time period! This seller does historically accurate clothing for the historical American Girl Dolls, she also does modern clothing too. :)
Addy simply LOVES her dress! :) Also, today my family and I went to a local Craft show! One lady there was selling Handmade 18 inch doll clothing, and some other accessories-even beds! I got a beautiful dress that looks perfect for Fall!
Her eyes and hair go very well with the dress! :) I bought 2 other little accessories too, doll headbands!
I thought these headbands were so neat! They are ribbon sewed onto elastic. My mom and I are going to try and make some like this! :)
My dolls and I just love our new handmade doll stuff! Even if it isn't American Girl brand, I love buying things from people that have made it themselves! It really amazes me at what people can make! :)
Have you ever bought any handmade doll clothing or have you made any yourself? :)

How pretty! I make a lot of doll clothing! I just made a fancy one yesterday for my Rebecca doll because tomorrow is Yom Kippur. It looks really pretty with her hat (which is AWESOME) and boots.

I have two outfits from Terristouch for Nellie and a dress from the etsy seller Melody Valerie for Rose.. It's so fun to get homemade doll clothes, isn't it?

What beautiful doll clothes, Liz!
Yes, I have made quite a few outfits for my dolls!
If you want, I could send you some pictures of them!
Also, I think my sister bought a handmade dress from a quilting/sewing show a long time ago and she gave it to me!
It's a pioneer dress!

I really love the headbands! I haven't made much doll clothing only a skirt that is very fragile. I am working on a pumkin and ghost outfit that my dolls can go trick or treating in!

I recently bought a dress for my Kirsten from Terristouch on Etsy. She really does make lovely dresses.
My modern doll Tyler has more handmade clothes than AG clothes. I like AG clothes but they are so expensive. I have found some really awesome handmade clothes that look great and are affordable.
I'm excited because today I just bought some really cute handmade Halloween dresses for my two dolls.

WOW! My mom likes sewing and she said sometime we'll get a dress pattern for my Kirsten! Plus my Our Genaration doll Haley came with lots of clothes and so I have a very small wardrobe for my dolls! Plus I might be making a skirt sometime soon.;)
P.S. I wish I had Mia she is so pretty!

Liz,
Once, I made a sundress for my JLY, Lily, but then I ripped it apart because it didn't look so good! Then I made a skirt, and a tank top with a matching belt. I also made a cloak for Elizabeth, but it was too big, so I used it for my AG horse. In one of the Imagine magazines (the magazine American Girl used to send to go along with the regular one), they show how to make doll sandals, totes, and bathing suit covers with foam, brads, and a stretch-able book cover. I didn't have foam, so I had to use paper instead. They looked pretty nice, though. (but not nice enough to go out and about in, so I use them as slippers!)

I got a lot of handmade doll clothes from my grandma for Christmas 09 and I made some blue jeans, mittens, hat(I gave the hat to my cousin) and my mom made me a skirt. I also knitted a scarf for my dolls.
