It was Valentine's Day morning, and Abbey and Nellie were getting ready for a Valentine's Day Tea Party that their friend Elizabeth was hosting. Though, you can't have a party without snacks so the girls decided to make some Valentine's Day cookies!
"Are you ready to start?" Nellie said as she laid down lots of baking supplies.
"Yeah, definately!" Abbey replied.
After setting down all the pots and pans, Nellie went to the refrigerator and pulled out the chilled dough that she made earlier.
"There!," Nellie said as she put down the dough,"Now, all we have to do is roll out the dough and cut out the cookies!"
"Wait! Don't forget about putting on aprons," Abbey declared holding up the pretty aprons,"We don't want to get our dresses messy!"
Once the girls put on the aprons...
...they struck a pose and giggled! Though, Abbey and Nellie got straight back to work!
They first had to put down some flour on the table so the dough wouldn't stick.
Then, Abbey rolled out the dough until it was not to thick and not too thin.
"Now let's cut out the cookies!" Nellie said while holding up a heart shaped cookie cutter-this was her favorite part!
It wasn't long before there was a whole sheet of heart shaped cut cookies!
Once the first sheet was filled, it was time for Nellie to put them in the oven!
After about 5-8 minutes they both heard a DING! The cookies were already done!!
"Wow, that was fast." Nellie exclaimed.
"Yeah it was," Abbey replied,"The quicker they're done the quicker we can decorate them!"
The girls got out all the cookie-decorating supplies--the fun part was beginning!
"This is so much fun," Nellie said while icing a cookie,"I remember the first time we baked together--when we made muffins! That was when you first moved here."
"I remember! That's what started my love of baking!" Abbey replied and giggled--Nellie just smiled. :)
After much chatting and decorating-there were some beautiful cookies!
Abbey looked up at the clock, as they were finishing up."Oh no, it's almost time to go Nellie! We have to pack up these cookies for the party!"
The girls tried to quickly take off their aprons, but Nellie had some trouble.
"Ahh, Help me!" Nellie exclaimed. Abbey tried to stifle her giggles. :)
"Mmm, these look good!" Abbey said, as they were packing the cookies up for the party, "I can't wait to eat them-I am sure our friends will love them!"
"Yes, I am sure they will,"Nellie said sweetly,"I guess... we could spare just one cookie...we have to try them to see if they are good anyway." Nellie broke a cookie in half and gave a half to her friend.
"Happy Valentine's Day!!!"
Love,
and all the dollies too!

Liz-
SO CUTE!!! Did you ruin the doll table when you put the flour on it? Just wondering.

Wow, were those real ingredients? They sure look real!! Did you hurt the table or anything?

Hi Liz:) Apparently you beat me to putting my photos up!! We picked up some Girl Scout cookies yesterday because my mom is the troop leader... while my family was gone my dolls baked some cookies too. My "secret cam" managed to take some photos of my dolls. I have to put them onto the computer though.
Actually- I have some photos from a long time ago that never made it onto my site. I will have to do it today with my day off :)
Nice photos,
-Lily
