This weekend my family and I went to the Barnes and Noble bookstore! I love browsing through all of the books there! As I was walking in the children's section looking to see if they had any American Girl mini dolls, guess what I found instead?!
The American Girl Pets Sugar, Honey, Ginger, and Coconut! (Sorry about the bad quality picture, I took it with my phone:) They are really cute, and I think that it's awesome they sell them at Barnes and Noble now! The pets come in a cute little box, and included with the pet is a book. The pets cost $24.95. What's strange is that if you buy them on the American Girl website they are $20, plus shipping which equals $24.95 too. I wonder why at the bookstore they charged the $4.95?
Here's Ginger! She looked a lot bigger than my Licorice. I was surprised about how big Honey was too! It is a lot different seeing the pets in real life than online or in the catalogs! I really want to get one sometime, I love Sugar the most! :)
Be sure to check them out your local Barnes and Noble Bookstore! Do you have any of the American Girl pets?

I like Pepper...I think she's the husky. They're REALLY expensive for pets for dolls, but they're cute!!!!!!

Have a great day! :)

Thats SO cool! I love Bookstores! And no, the only AG pet I have is Lanie's Lulu, and I don't think she counts. But my friend has Coconut, Ginger, and Sugar. I like Honey the best, and if I get one, she would be the one I got. :)

Posted by: Leanna | April 26, 2010 at 08:21 AM
Hi Liz:)
It is really cool that you found AG Pets at B&N:) The extra $4.95 was probably for "shipping" the pets to B&N, or getting them there;)

That is soooooooooooo cool! I have seen these at Borders Bookstore too. :) I like Honey and Ginger the best. I do have a mini chihuahua but it's not from american girl. I think that is so neat!

Hey Liz!!!!! That is soooo cool that you found Coconut, Sugar, Honey, and Ginger at barnes and noble. By the way, did you get any???
Posted by: Joelle | April 29, 2010 at 05:01 PM
That is cool that you found ag pets at barnes and noble!!!! Last time I went I saw them there too!!!! And I got Julie's Play Scenes and Paper Dolls and the AG magazine the April issue when I went there. And the most expensive thing I ever bought at barnes and noble are those ag kit thingys. (doll school, doll crafts, doll scrapbook, soon to be doll parties in June! Yay!!!! They also have alot more than that!!!) did you get anything ag from barnes and noble Liz???? If you did please make another post showing it!!! Thanks. Oh and btw, did you guys know that you can get the books that come with the pet seperate??? I thought that was really cool cuz for the old coconut and licorice, they sold the books with the pet and you couldn't get the book seperate.

The only ag brand pets I have are coconut and lulu(lanie's bunny) I got coconut when I went to the agp in NYC and lulu when lanie came with her accessories. I have a stuffed animal that's a white cat and she is samantha's. Her name is vanilla bcuz of her soft, white skin. She also has a carrier thts pink and fuzzy. I got vanilla and the carrier from universal studios in Florida the first time I went.

Thank you so much everyone for the comments!!
Joelle-I loved seeing the pets, but I didn't get one. Maybe next time when I have more money to spend I will! :)
Leanna-I don't think they are too large to be doll sized pets. Remember that real people sized dogs and cats are big! :)
Nicki-I am so excited about the Doll Parties book set coming soon!! My dolls would LOVE to have that, since they love parties. hehe I did get an American Girl book from Barnes and Noble and it was The I Love Mysteries Fun Book! It has been out since 2006, but I hadn't seen it before. :)
I hope you all have a great day!

I have Coconut and Licorice. I got Licorice in 2006, at B&N. The extra $4.95 is because of the book that comes with them. Online you get just the pet.
I think Pepper is cute and will probably get him at some point; just have to figure out who will get him ;)
Posted by: Melissa | May 01, 2010 at 08:59 AM
@Grace Nice list. You've got most of them. In the 1990s, there was also a bunny named Baxter. He later came back in another set, nameless.

Um Trini I don't wanna sound mean but Pepper is a boy, just so you know.He is the only boy from th just like you doll cats and dogs. I know that it's hard to find out if the pet is girl or boy.I learned that Pepper is a boy when I played his game. The instrucations said help him,not help her.I don't wanna be mean just wanted to tell you a fact

I have Honey,Coconut,Ginger Kirsten's kitten and a couple non AG pets. My non ag pets are Shasta and Sierra,a mother and puppy wich are Alaskan Huskies ( Do the names sound familiar to anyone who read Julie and the Eagles),Fluffy and teeny a minature bunny and gray hamster,Cherry(she really isn't a pet but she's treated like one by my two year old bitty twin Emily)she is a pink teddy bear,Mr.Mandarine(He's lanies stuffed orangutan but Alyssa, his ten year old,in seven days eleven year old owner trets him like a pet).My last two pets are Black beaty,a beatiful black horse and her son Charcole.Oh and my horses are real american girl pets but they don't have that soft fur like the horses have now.My horses are plastic and they were retired like two years ago. So those are my pets.I guess answered your question Liz
