Happy New Year everyone!! Wow, American Girl started the New Year off with TONS of new stuff! The American Girl of the Year 2011, Kanani Akina is now available, along with brand new outfits for the Historical dolls, two new My American Girl outfits, and new American Girl 25th Birthday items! I LOVE everything, and I'm so excited!

Kanani Girl of the Year 2011! Ahh, I didn't think I would like her this much! She is SO cute, and look at her long hair! :)
Kanani's Beach Outfit-I love the swimsuit, and the beach shorts! If I don't get Kanani, I still want this! :)
Kanani's Pajamas-The Aqua color is beautiful! I love all the colors American Girl chose for Kanani!
Kanani's Lu'au Set-it's so Hawaiian and adorable!!
Kanani's Shaved Ice Stand-wow this is just too awesome!
My American Girl Sweetheart Pajamas-These are very sweet! I really love those slipper-boots. :)
Molly's Polka-Dot Dress-My Molly doll needs this!!! hehe :)
Kit's Summer Dress-this would be a perfect Easter dress for Kit! :)
Addy's Summer Plaid Outfit-I just LOVE all of Addy's collection, and I love this! Those boots are cute!
American Girl is celebrating their 25th Birthday this year, so they have Exclusive Birthday items! They are selling exclusive mini-dolls of the Historical characters in their Holiday dresses! Also to celebrate, American Girl is having a 25th Birthday CRUISE! I can't believe this, it sounds so fun!!! I wish I could go, though it looks way expensive.

Since I am up in Canada, where the timing is different, i got to see Kanani last night at 10:00 pm! I am really hoping to go on the cruise, even though it's unlikely. I'm going to work my head off to earn money for both! (especially the cruise, because for my mom and and me to go, it's $3,126!)

Hey Liz, I got to see Kanani and all the other new stuff Thursday. Due to me having to order another bed for Kit, they sent me a Spring 2011 cataloug. AG's doing a contest were you create a Kanani e-card and then send it to someone. The amount of e-cards you create and send is the amount of chances you have to win each month. And every month they get new pictures to put on them. The prize is a Kanani doll and book. It's only available for girls 8-13. I entered and created 2 this morning.

I think Kanani is so cute. I really like her pjs. I also really like Kit's new dress. I agree it would be a great Easter dress for her. The heart pjs are adorable.
I really like the idea for the mini dolls being released each month. I have never gotten a mini doll before so i really thing it would be cool to collect them :)

I want to get her so much! I Like her tons, but my mom and dad think that American Girl is a frivolous waste of money (they're nuts) so I'll have to save up...I like Molly's dress, Kit's dress, and Addy's dress. I like Rebecca's new dress, too. The cruise looks so fun! It's way too expensive, though.

I think you have to win the lottery to be able to afford it :) (That means I won't be going b/c we never buy Lottery Tickets...my parents don't really agree with gambling)

Hi Liz! Cool post. I LOVE Kanani but might not be able to get her. Also, Kanani's Stand is the Shave Ice stand, not Shaved Ice. It states that in the book. I think I'm going to get one of the AG social mini dolls sometime I think. I miss Lanie!

Wow, Liz. I am.... gulp..... SURE I will get Kanani. She's adorable!!! I wasn't sure about her eyes at first- I normally don't like the more almond shaped ones- but I think I'm going to give in. Kanani's starter kit is mine when I save up for my birthday trip! The lu'au outfit is gorgeous! I also love the cute slipper boots on the sweetheart pj's. Wow! I sure am excited for my trip. Now there's only saving up enough money! :) oh, well. Kanani's quite the little motivator.

I REALLY want Kanani, even though I still think that AG could've done a better job on her meet outfit. I mean, it looks WAAAY to much like Kailey's outfit. I read Ivy's book and loved it. I think Lisa Yee is a good writer, and I am TOTALLY going to buy the book. I read the excerpt on the AG website and I an so EXCITED to buy the book! What about you?

I don't think I will buy Kanani the doll, however I might buy some of her outfits. They are very tropical and stylish. My favorite new item from AG is definitely the Breakfast in Bed set! When I was at the AG Store, I got it for my doll. It looks better in person than it does on the website. It is so detailed and realistic. It is only $28, which I think is a great deal. I would definitely recommend it. Happy 2011!

hey madeline! I think you should get Kanani because you can get ivy or rebecca anytime like christmas next year. You can only get Kanani this year! And btw, Rebecca isnt all that pretty I mean shes cute but not one of my absolute faves cause I have her. her hair gets really frizzy and its hard to take care of. i have Ivy and julie to and Ivy is really pretty, so i would recommend either Kanani or Ivy. happy bday!!!

heyyyy Liz! i wish i was able to go to the AGP on January 1,2011 to see Kanani Akina and all of the new stuff... But oh well! I just asked my dad if i could get Kanani with my own money and he yes and if its ok with my mom I could! And I would get Kanani's starter collection, Kanani's Pjs, and Kanani's aloha outfit. Shipping for all of that is like $20.00 or more! oh gosh i wish the shipping prices wouldn't go up the more items your getting. Wish me luck i hope my mom says yes!!!!!
