It was a Bright Valentines day afternoon at the Albright's house. Julie had just finished putting up all the decorations and tables, and was trying to wait patiently for her friends to arrive.
I hope they arrive soon Julie said to herself.
Julie was very pleased at all the work she had done. Everything was perfect but one think was missing...her friends of course!
"Ding Dong" Julie squealed with excitement. Quickly she ran to answer the door.
Girls girls Julie said at once, I am so excited to see you all! Please put your Valentines on the table over there.
Samantha set down her Valentines cards she made.
"I'm hungry" Megan said as her stomach growled. How about we pass out our Valentines first, Nellie said with a smile. "Sighs" I guess my stomach can wait a few more minutes.
I will pass them out Julie said with excitement! Alright, Josefina said giggling.
Here is one for you Nellie. Aww Thanks Julie. Nellie said in response.
The girls were so happy with all the Valentines they got.
"I got so many nice Valentine's!" Josefina thought to herself while reading them.
Hmm I wonder what's in here Nellie said cheerfully.
Yummm conversation hearts Nellie said with a big smile! I know you can't have a Valentine's day without them!" Megan giggled.
After they all exchanged Valentines it was now time to eat! Megan you can eat now Nellie said with a giggle. Yippeee I am starving Megan replied.
Nellie sat down next to Megan and they quickly started up a conversation.
"Happy Valentine's Day Megan"
"Happy Valentine's Day to you too Nellie"
"What have you been up to lately?" Megan asked.
"Hmmm...well, I finished up schoolwork, but that's not very exciting...well, um I got to walk Jip with Samantha the other day. That was alot of fun.
That's Awesome Megan said.
Everyone talked and enjoyed their food.
When all the girls finished eating, Julie made an announcement.
"Okay, everybody it's now time to play a little game!" All you have to do is guess how many candies there are in this Jar.
All the yummy candies in the Jar.
Samantha was happy to be the first one to write her guess.
Megan wanted to give the guessing game a try too! :)
After Megan wrote her guess on the piece of paper..She happened to find a Valentine under Samantha's chair. Pulling out the valentine slowly...She wondered who's Valentine it was.
Hey Samantha Megan said quickly. Yes Megan Samantha said sweetly. Is this your valentine under the chair? Megan asked. No it's not mine Samantha said.
Nellie is this your Valentine? Megan asked nervously. No sorry Megan mine is over here on the floor, Nellie said pointing.
Okay Megan said anxiously. So if this valentine isn't Samantha's or Nellie's and Julie told me it wasn't hers. Then it has to be Josefina's megan said relieved. No sorry Megan this isn't mine either Josefina said worried.
Well, I guess it must be for all of us Megan said with excitement.
Megan quickly opened the valentine's with a smile.
Megan read the message aloud.
Happy Valentines Day!

Then they saw a mysterious shadow knocking at the door........
The girls were a little scared. Who was this shadow? What were they doing there?
