Recently, we went to our local Goodwill Thrift Store! It's fun to look around and see if there's anything we can find. Well, this time...I found some really cool American Girl things!! :)
First I found an old "Good Sports" American Girl book! The copyright is 1999 by Pleasant Company! I had never seen this book before! :)
I also found another American Girl book "The Babysitters Handbook". It's copyright is 1999 too! It was really funny because this book I found in the Kid's section and the Good Sports one in the adult section. They were completely across the store from each other!
We decided to go to another Goodwill too. The first thing I found there was this "A Smart Girls Guide to Friendship Troubles" American Girl book. I almost didn't buy it because I remembered having the same book at home. Though, I got it anyway and was surprised when I found out that the two books were the same, but different!
The difference was that the book I got at Goodwill was made by American Girl, and the one I already owned was made by American Girl Library/Pleasant company. I thought that was really cool!
I then searched through a huge pile of books and found this American Girl Josefina Directors Guide. I was really surprised when I saw this. The copyright of the book was 1998. As I skimmed through the pages I found out that it was a play book of a Josefina story. You and your friends could act out the characters and perform the play.
On the back of the Directors Guide it showed that there were plays for the other 6 American Girl Characters too. (There were only 6 Historical dolls in 1998, Kit wasn't even available yet!)
Here's a page in the Director's Guide that tells all about the characters in Josefina's story.
On this page of how to plan the play I saw that it said there were four included play scripts. I wondered if the Play Scripts were in the stack of books too, so I searched through the rest of the books...
...and I found all four of the Play Scripts together!
Here's a page of the play script. The play looks so much fun, I would have loved doing this with Hope when I was younger!
I was super excited about finding the American Girl books, but as we were checking out I found something else too!
This cute little pitcher that was doll sized!!
Isn't it pretty? I love the design on the pitcher. I think this would be perfect for Samantha's time period!
I was surprised that I found some American Girl things at Goodwill! It was the first time I found anything AG there, but also the first time I really searched. I only spent around $7.00 for all of it too! :)
Have you ever found anything for your dolls at Goodwill or other thrift stores? I would love to know! :)

Whoa! That's so cool. One time I went to GoodWill, and there was an AG doll, either Addy or a JLY and a doll bed that I saw a girl holding. She had gotten to them before I did! Then I found a Coconut pillow, but it was all written on in orange marker, so I couldn't get it. The other girl took that, too! Oh well, I'll get something sometime!

Hi A.J.!
Aww, that's so sad! I really hope that you find something AG sometime-maybe you'll get something even better! :)
When I was at the Goodwill I saw a lady buying a Kit book, and that's what made me go over and see if there were any other AG books. I had never really thought about looking for books before. :)
Have a great day!
Your Friend,
Liz

I found a Kit doll at a local thrift store once! She had permanent marker on her leg I already had a Kit, but she was wearing the old red, white and blue cheerleading outfit that I loved when I was little so I just had to bring her home! I also managed to get the marker off of her leg and she is nearly new looking.

I got lucky last weekend & the weekend before at a couple thrift stores, they're called peddlers malls and they're just big indoor flea markets and also at a goodwill thrift. I found 14 different AG books, a blue locker perfect size for the girls, lots & lots of chairs, benches, a rocking chair, and a Kirsten figurine (my best find), two chalk boards to add with the classroom items, a wooden bunk bed with bedding too which was perfect size for 18" dolls, oh yeah and a small Hello Kitty lunch box just the right size for the girls. At a goodwill store I found two Addy books & a love seat perfect size for the girl & a perfectly sized real lamp with a pink shade for their bedroom. I found quiet a bit and couldn't believe it. I love goodwill thrift stores and peddler's mall, so many great finds. The stuff that was actual AG was all the books & my Kirsten figurine, but it's great when you can find accessories for them as well as actual american girl stuff too. :)

WOW! Those are really neat finds Liz! :)
I have the sport book, Babysitter's handbook, and the Friendship Troubles book too!
I found a lot of AG books at my church yard sale and I found one of my American Girl dolls there too! (A JLY in the retired purple and green outfit.) I named her Lilly Claire! :) I found an AG magazine and some other AG books for sale at my library too!

Just last week I walked to a thrift store after school and found Kirsten's Trunk! I was so excited and amazed at how special of a find it was. But I couldn't get it that day because I barely had enough and I had to walk back to school that night for a concert and couldn't bring it. So the next day I rushed over there with the money I needed and bought it! I went home immediately, but it was quite a trip to bring it on the train and a bus. I'm so glad I got it, the only thing is that it didn't have the top. No worries, I don't really need it as I have the old MyAG bunkbeds on top of it!

I have the Josefina play too! I remember in about 3rd grade, we tried to put on the play with all the girls in my class, but everyone ended up fighting about the parts. :(

Once I went to Goodwills and saw a really cool old fashioned telephone that was American Girl sized. But I didn't get it because the wires of the telephone was messed up and it couldn't stand up right.
So far I haven't seen any real American Girl products yet!

I own the babysitters handbook because a girl was cleaning out her room to go to college and did not want it. I got it.

Liz, that pitcher is absolutely ADORABLE!
There's never anything AG at our Goodwill. Just scary stuffed animals. ;D

Yeah,I agree with Spicemuffin. There is nothing at our Goodwill AG. Only over-stuffed stuffed animal with marker all over them. But I do like getting fabric and looking at the glass dolls. Only thing I have ever got at Goodwill is a tiny couch.

I went to goodwill yesterday, and I saw Jess's motor scooter there. It was still in the box! But, it was $20, and I wasn't going to spend that much for it. But a few months ago, we went there, and I got the purple AG door hanger thing that can hold doll stuff on it. It was $2. My mom and I are going to another Thrift store today, so hopefully, I will find something as cool as what you found!

I got a Kirsten thing at a garage sale. It had Kirsten crafts, recipies, paper dolls, and aplay thing. It had a directors guide and a bunch of scripts. It came in a thing called Kirsten's pastimes. Also, one time I was at a thrift store and there was this cat sitting on a bed. I looked closer and we found out it was a Samantha bed. My mom bought it for me for only $5!
