I've been having a lot of fun sharing with you some party crafts that you can make for your American Girl doll! I've shown you how to make a doll cake and a doll balloon, but today I'm going to show you how to make a doll blowout horn like the one in this picture...
These blowout horns would be perfect for any doll party-including New Years! ;)
Let's get started!
First you will need some supplies:
-
Colored or striped straws
- Pretty paper
- Shiny Chenille Stem (I got mine at Wal-mart, they were called "Glitter Sticks")
-
Double-sided tape (you can use glue too, but for me double-sided tape works better)
-
Scissors
-
A ruler
-
A pencil
- And, a parent or guardian to help you! :)
Once you have all of your supplies, choose what color paper you want, and grab your ruler and pencil. Measure and mark 1 1/2 in. wide by 2 1/2 in. tall piece of the paper.
Then, cut out the piece of paper with scissors.
When your piece of paper is cut out, pick the straw you want to use. :)
Cut the straw at 1 1/2 inches.
Now tear off a small piece of your double-sided tape, and put the piece of tape on the short paper edge.
Begin rolling the straw around the paper. If you need to, you can add more tape to the paper. After your done rolling, flatten the paper.
Use your pencil to roll the paper into a coil...you're almost done!
Pick what shiny chenille stem you want to decorate the blowout horn with, and cut 1 inch of it. Then, tape it on the center of your blowhorn.
Ta-da, your doll now has her very own blowout horn! These are so much fun and easy to make!
I hope your doll has a lot of fun with her blowout horn! If you make one for your doll, I would love to see it! Email me a picture at email@americangirlfan.com and I'll post it!
Have fun!! :)

Hi Girls! Thank you all for your nice comments! :)
Mary-Thank you for the link to that dress! It's really cute, and I love the belt!! :)
Hanny Musk-To put the blowout horn in your dolls mouth, tear off a few pieces of the double-sided tape, and tape it to the top of the straw. Then it will stick to your dolls mouth! :D
I hope you all have a great day!

Hi Girls! Thank you all so much for your comments, I'm glad you liked the craft!
Jessica-I don't mind at all! Liz is short for Elizabeth. :)
Madeline-I will be doing the giveaway as soon as the backpack set comes in the mail. It's backordered, so it should be coming anytime within the next few weeks. I can't wait! :)
Lexie-Thanks! Elizabeth's dress was handmade by my friend Jasmine. She gave it to me as a gift for my 16th birthday last year, isn't it cute? My dolls love it! :)
I hope you all have a great day!!

I thought it might have been an american girl holiday/winter dress but could not see all of it from where the photo was taken to determine which dress it was.
