Summer is my favorite season! Warm sunny weather, swimming, flipflops, vacations, fresh veggies from the garden; I love it all! I want to know what you and your dolls are up to this Summer and have some fun too, so I'm having my first ever...
Summer Fun Doll Photo Contest! (Complete with two prizes too, just read on!)
Here's how you can enter:
-Take a picture of your American Girl doll(s) having Summer Fun! Having a Summer party, relaxing by the pool, wearing summer fashions, whatever you want! In your email tell me your name or nickname, and the names of the American Girl dolls in your picture. You can include other Non-American Girl dolls in your picture too! So, if you don't have an American Girl doll, you can still enter a picture!
-Send me your picture by emailing me at email@americangirlfan.com. Please send in only one picture. :)
-Be sure you get your Parent's permission before sending in your picture!
The last day to send in your picture is Monday July 23rd. Once I get all the doll pictures, I will post all the pictures in a new post and you will have the chance to vote on a poll for your favorite Summer picture! Voting will go on from July 24th-July 31st. I will announce the winners on August 1st.
Now onto the fun prizes you could win!! The Summer picture with the most votes will be the 1st Place winner and will recieve...
A $25 dollar American Girl Giftcard!
And, the Summer picture with the 2nd highest votes will recieve a $15 American Girl Giftcard!
The Giftcards come with a nice card, catalog, and giftcard holder, but if you are unable to give out your home address, you can still enter to win the PIN code for the Giftcard which I can send you by email. For the winner(s) that would like the giftcard by mail, I can ship to USA and Canada only.

This sounds like a lot of fun. I don't have any AG dolls yet (plenty of books though), but I do have a Journey Girl from Toys R Us that I got last month, and she will LOVE modeling for this contest!
Oh, and speaking of non-AG dolls/accessories, I've found some GREAT ways to accessorize my Kelsey. McDonald's happy meal toys, especially the Barbie ones make great doll toys. Build-A-Bear accessories like the Bearamy Kennel Club pets, purses, pretend food, etc, all make for great doll additions. And lastly, I've found that repurposing old baby clothes can be a HUGE find. I have two little ones (a 6 yr old son, and 4 month old daughter), so things of theirs that are too worn out to pass on usually end up in my scrap bag. I'm actually working on a denim skirt for my Kelsey doll using material from jeans that my son tore HUGE holes in while playing outside. And a couple of infant dresses that my daughter outgrew all too quickly are being adjusted so that they will be tiny enough for my doll.

Does it have to be in summer attire? I don't have any, but I have a tshirt and skirt set, and a soccer set... Will that work?

Hi Sarah,
No your doll doesn't have to be in Summer attire, anything you own can work! You could even make an outfit out of other materials--like a paper grass skirt for a luau. Using your soccer set would be cute too! Just have fun with your picture! I can't wait to see it. :)

Sure, you can have your picture inside! There is really no limit to what/where your picture can be. :)
I've asked girls to only send in one picture, just to give everyone a fair chance. I can't wait to see your picture!
