I love seeing what girls create for their dolls! Teresa from HarvesterProducts recently told me about her 13-year-old daughter Jaclynn's awesome shop--Bitty Beanies!

Her Etsy shop, http://www.etsy.com/shop/bittybeanies is where she sells her hand crocheted doll clothing creations like the full outfit above! I wanted to get to know Jaclynn better and how she came up with her shop with an interview!

When did you learn how to crochet?
June 6th 2009, I was 10 years old.

How did you come up with the idea of your shop--Bitty Beanies?
Well- AG "Bitty" Twins and I started out making regular beanies. So I got "Bitty Beanies".

Do you have any American Girl dolls? Which one is your favorite?
Yes! I have 5 AG Dolls, 3 sets of Bitty Twins, and 1 Bitty Baby. As for picking a favorite, I couldn't. They are all like my children and choosing one over ALL the others would make me feel terrible!
What is your favorite thing to crochet?
I don't know if I can pick a certain item that I like to make best, but I'm the most excited when I'm creating a new design.
Do you have any advice for girls who want to learn how to crochet and make things for their doll?
I think that if they want to make things for their doll, that they should make things in the colors and styles that they like. I also think that it's easiest to learn by someone teaching you, and not from the book. That way you can see a person doing it, instead of just pictures.

Jaclynn: How did the interview happen-like, was it email or phone or something?
Posted by: Amelia Rose | October 25, 2012 at 04:37 PM
Jaclynn: Does your BF like AmericanGirl, too? Does she crochet for dolls?
Posted by: Amelia Rose | October 25, 2012 at 04:44 PM
Amelia Rose:
It was through email. My mom asked Liz if she could do it and she said yes!
Know, she's more of a crafty, movie, reader, music person. She never really liked dolls much.
She crochets for people. Like she makes brim hats, scarves, animal hats, and she has a book that shows her how to make stuffed animals so she's made a few of those.
