With these chilly Winter months I think every doll needs a fuzzy headband or hat. Priya of Blam Bands thinks so too! She makes hand-knitted headbands, hats, and scarfs just for 18 inch dolls.

When did you first learn how to knit?
I first learned to knit when I was 9 and my mother had bought me a knitting set for Christmas.
Do you use patterns or make your own designs?
To create my products, I twist up classic patterns to create new things like snow muffle bonnets and earflap hats.
Do you have any American Girl dolls?
I have one Just Like Me Doll that I love soo much.
What's your favorite thing to make for dolls?
My fav thing to make for dolls is headbands of course because they look great with any outfit and there are soo many colors I can make them with.
Do you have any tips for girls who want to start their own business?
If you want to start your own business, you need to choose something you really love and are passionate about. Learn how to get really good at your hobby-take advice from friends and family. After this you can do anything! Show-off your new skill to your friends and family, giveaway samples of your products, and lastly wear or share your products to get the word out! I can almost guarantee you will have to try many hobbies before you find the perfect one. But stay faithful and have fun with your new business!

Hello,
I'm Joylo, the grandmother to two beautiful grand daughters. The oldest is Alyssa age 14, she plays alto sax, soccer in summer and indoor soccer in winter. Throughout the year she takes dance lessons from when she started ballet at age 3. She does well in school and she's dislexic! Five years ago i bought a doll, but she was in rough shape. Her mother did hair dressing as an elective in high school so we gave the doll a pretty hair cut.
My other grand daughter is Zara who is 5. She also takes ballet lessions and does well in school. her heart is full of love and kindness towards all of her class mates.
This year I managed to scrape up enough money to buy them new dolls, they were on sale after Xmas. I knit, crochet, embroider and sew. I designed for the dolls slouchie hats with lacy patterns, scarves and mitts or fingerless gloves.
I would love for one of my grand daughters to win, however, I would in turn donate the price to a girl who comes from a family who can not afford buy an AG doll. If she could even put the gift under pillow and have dreams and hope that one would be porvided for her, I would be most happy for her.

Omygoodness .. all of the designs are so precious. IF I would win this would be for one of 3 granddaughters who have never had an AG doll. Money is tight without a job, so I hope to win to give at least one granddaughter something very cool and impressive to them, winning would be wonderful.
