I absolutely LOVE braids, they are an awesome way to dress up a doll hairstyle without much effort!
This maiden braided bun was super easy and works great on any dolls with long/medium length hair!
First seperate the hair. Leave out pieces of hair in the front and then gather the rest in a top bun. (To learn how to do a bun, click HERE!)
Braid the front pieces (it helps to secure them with a bobbypin so they don't slip while you do both of them.) Then lift the braids and cross them over. Any extra hair wrap around the bun and secure with a bobbypin.
And, that's the maiden braided bun! So pretty and perfect for Valentine's Day parties coming up!
With this same technique you can do a braided headband! Just braid the front pieces and cross them over the hair, like the picture above. After they are across your doll's head, use a bobbypin to keep them in place.
For a crazy fun maiden braid look, do two braids on each side and cross over. Then do a messy bun! haha
Saige hopes you have fun trying out these hairstyles! If you do any of them or try out your own, we'd love to see! Feel free to send us a picture at email@americangirlfan.com
Happy Stylin'!
