Happy St. Patrick's Day, lassies! Is your doll wearing green? I hope so! If not here's a fun way to add some green to her outfit today!
I'm going to show you how to make a shamrock hairclip! These are so easy and fun, and cute too!
Let's get started!
First you will need some supplies:
- Light or Dark green felt
- A marker
- Scissors
- Sewing Needle
- Green thread
- Small hairclips or bobby pins
- Glue dots, hot glue, or regular glue (whichever you have on hand)
- And a parent/guardian to help you!
After you have all your supplies, begin by drawing three M's on the edge of your felt. They need to be about a a half inch tall.
Cut the M's out (they don't have to be perfect) and get your needle and thread ready!
Take one of the M's (which is going to be a shamrock leaf), and bring your needle UP through the fabric. Fold it slightly and then bring it through again, like a weave.
Pull it through and continue with another shamrock leaf until it looks like the picture above. :)
After you have all three together, pull the thread from each side tight to draw the leaves together to form a shamrock and knot at the back to secure.
You're almost done!!
Yay you've made a lucky shamrock! Now it's time to glue it on a hairclip so your doll can wear it!
Nellie loves her new hairclip!
Happy St. Patty's Day to all of you! If you make a hairclip, I'd love to see! Feel free to send me a picture at email@americangirlfan.com

Does anyone have any ideas on what I should buy from the ag store with $98.55?
Posted by: Kelley | March 18, 2013 at 03:14 PM
Kelley: I would get the Fun & Games Table.
=^..^=

Kelley: Hmmm.. Well that's almost enough to buy a doll! You coud save a little more and if there's a doll you want you could buy her! Or you could buy a bunch of outfits, a furniture set, whatever you want! Or try getting something you don't have alot of or something that's so different and unique from what you already have. Hope this helps you! But if it were me- I'd get a doll! LOL! Oh! Or you could get the Baking Table if you don't have it yet. I recommend it 100%!

This is a cute hairclip idea and could work for pins, too! I'll have to make a couple (even though St. Patrick's Day has passed for the year). I might make some flowers with other colors, too, and maybe adding a 4th piece(?).
