I love scarves! They are so fun to wear, either to be practical or just to dress up. Today I'm going to show you how to make a pretty no-sew scarf your doll, inspired by Valentine's Day!
These are so fun and very easy to make!! Let's get started! :)
First you'll need some supplies:
- Fabric of anykind (I used a heart patterned fabric and marbled red, from JoAnn's. I only got a half-yard since this craft doesn't need too much of it. I also used hot pink fleece and light pink felt!)
- Pinking shears (Regular scissors would work too!)
- And, a parent/guardian to help you!
Once you have all that you need, begin cutting strips from your fabric.
Make the strips around five and half inches.
You'll need a lot of them, so get busy!
After you've cut many pieces of fabric, it's time to use that twine. You can buy twine at any craft store.
Cut three long pieces of twine, about twenty two inches in length. It needs to be long so that it will fit around your dolls neck. :)
Use tape to hold in place as you braid them together.
Now you have a long thick rope that should look like this. It's not going to stay plain for long though...
Use those pretty pieces of fabric and tie them on the twine. I only did one knot, but you can double knot if you'd like.
Continue tieing on the strips, alternating colors, until you near the end...
You're almost done, keep going!
Ta-daa!! Now your doll has a beautiful frilly scarf to wear! I love these and you could make them in all kinds of colors. :)
Saige loves her scarf too! Perfect for Valentine's Day or any day! :)
I hope you have fun making a scarf for your doll! If you do, I'd love to see! Feel free to send me a picture at email@example.com
Have a lovely time crafting! :)
