Meg's Review of Girl of the Year 2012 McKenna!

My friend Meg recently got a new American Girl doll...McKenna GOTY 2012!! She sent me her awesome review of McKenna, and I thought it would be super fun for her to share it with you too! So, here's Meg!

Hi! This is McKenna. She is this year’s Girl of the Year. This is my review on this beautiful doll:

McKenna has a wonderful face mold with beautiful blue eyes. Her body is plush and soft, and her legs are more loose than other dolls’ because she is a gymnast. Could she do those move with stiff legs?! Her meet outfit suits her well, it is made with a soft material. Her shoes also really suit her, and both her shoes and her outfit have her two favorite colors: turquoise and purple!

Her hair is the best! If you do not like anything else about her get her for her hair! It is silky and a dream to style. Well, French braids do not stay unless you are a miracle worker because it is so silky. But other styles work well, like pigtails, regular braids and hairdos like that work perfectly.

American Girl Apps for the iPod and iPhone!

Friday was my first day of Summer Break, and my parents surprised me with a gift for all my hard work in school. I was so happy to get...an iPod Touch!! My sister, Hope, got one for Christmas last year and I loved fiddling with hers, so I'm excited to now have my own!

I had heard about American Girl's App games for the iPod, so those were the first things I downloaded for FREE! I thought it would be fun to share some of my thoughts on these cool games!

McKenna's Gymtastic Game is my favorite of all four of the games! It's the newest App, since it was let out in April. The point of the game is to try not to fall of the beam, by tapping the screen to make McKenna jump.

The more stars you collect the more points you get too! I love to see how high I can get McKenna to go!

Kanani's Shave Ice Game is probably my second favorite, it's awesome! I love serving all of the customers, but it sure can get hard to hurry up and fill the orders! ;)

The Cheer On! Game is really unique in that you tilt the iPod to play!

By tilting it it moves the megaphone to spell out the word. The words get longer as you play! I think this one is a little harder than the rest, since the megaphone gets stuck for me sometimes.

And, finally Cecile and Marie-Grace's Secret Wardrobe! This one is really fun and fast-paced!

As the masquarade costume clothing falls quickly, you have to move them to the right place--either to Cecile or Marie-Grace.

Kit thinks the Secret Wardrobe is super fun!! I think I'll have to watch out or my iPod may go missing one day. haha ;) Kit hopes that they come out with some more Historical AG Apps soon!

Yardsale Find: American Girls Collection Jigsaw Puzzle!

My family loves to do puzzles--and I have the PERFECT puzzle to do! This Summer I found an American Girls Collection Puzzle at a Yardsale!!

Here's the puzzle box with the puzzle design on it. The design has 6 American Girl characters on it and they are all reading. It's a 300 piece puzzle too!

Here's some info on the puzzle box! The puzzle was originally $9.95, but at the yardsale I got it for $2! :)

Here's the puzzle finished! It's soo pretty-I love it!! It's a really sturdy puzzle and I think it would be really cool to frame it and put it in my room! :)

In the left hand corner of the puzzle it says that it was made in 1999 by Pleasant Company. I had never seen it before. I think since it was sold in 1999, it might have been sold at Hallmark when they sold the American Girls Collection items.

The puzzle is pretty big! The picture of it I showed above doesn't really show it's real size, so Felicity wanted to help by sitting on the puzzle for comparison! hehe She's so funny...:)

I was happy to find this along with a few other things at a yardsale this summer! Did you find anything at a yardsale or thrift store this Summer? :)
