Happy Superbowl!

 

Happy SuperBowl!! My doll Mia is totally ready to watch some Football! She really loves all sports. ;)

Also, I wanted to apologize for not posting very much lately. Sometimes, when I'm not writing a new post, I am actually planning a post by taking pictures and thinking of stories in my head! I have some very fun things coming up, so stay tuned! :)

Welcome Home to my Dolls!

 It was a cold Autumn day, but excitement filled the air! Abbey and Mia were eagerly awaiting their friends arrival. You see, Abbey and Mia's friends Molly, Elizabeth, Kit, and Addy were on vacation (being displayed at the library) and were coming home today! Abbey and Mia didn't know what time they were coming, so to pass the time they sat down at the table and played with their paper dolls! :)

"Well, Hello, Felicity you look quite lovely today!" Abbey said in an english accent. "As do you Elizabeth," Mia said and then giggled, she loved playing paper dolls, but she couldn't focus on playing. "Abbey, I am so excited! Do you think they willl get here soon? It has been an hour!"

"Mia, don't worry! They will get here when they get here." Abbey responded. As the girls were talking they didn't hear the stiffled giggles in the hallway...someone was overhearing them...

Molly, Elizabeth, Kit, and Addy were home!! They couldn't come home without a little fun, though, so they quietly tiptoed into the room, and shouted...

"Surprise!!!!" Abbey and Mia were really surprised!

 

"Oh, I am so glad you all are back," Mia said while hugging Elizabeth,"Abbey and I missed you all so much!"

After the shock from the surprise wore off, so many more hugs went around and Addy told a few stories from their vacation! 

Abbey and Mia also showed them the banner they made to welcome them all home...

The girls all had a fun time being re-united together and were so happy to say...

 

"Welcome Home Molly, Elizabeth, Kit, and Addy!! Welcome Home!"

AmericanGirlFan in the Newspaper!

With having my American Girl dolls (and Hope's) at my Local Library, many girls have enjoyed looking at them and seeing them! Our Library was so overwhelmed with the response from girls they were getting, that they told the local Newspaper about our display! I got to be interviewed by a Newspaper reporter for an article. This past Thursday the article about our American Girl Doll collection was on the front page of the local Newspaper! What a blessing and a surprise!

Walton girl's doll collection online

 A girl's hobby is connecting her people all over the world. 

Walton home school student Liz, 15, has collected American Girl Dolls since she was 9 years old, and that interest has gone online.

Her grandmother first got her interested in the dolls, and over the years she and her sister have collected close to a dozen of them.

About a year ago Liz created a blog about American Dolls using templates through blogger.com.

Her father also runs a Web site, so she was able to get some ideas. Using a different template, Liz now runs americangirlfan.com. Since opening the site, it's brought in visitors from all over the country and as far as Australia, Brazil and Finland.

"It really makes me feel great," Liz said.

The community that's sprung up around the site has Liz more excited about collecting and displaying her dolls, she said. "It really does make me like my dolls more," Liz said.

In general, the response to the site has been positive, but Liz has had to develop the thick skin that's needed with the anonymity of the Internet."Sometimes people are mean, but I don't pay attention to them," Liz said.

Liz isn't set on a career for later in life, but she's willing to see where her Web design skills can take her.

"It's amazing to me that a girl her age could create a Web site like this," said Becky Kempf, spokesperson for the Public Library.

Along with sharing her love with the world, Liz is sharing her collection with her neighbors. Her American Girl collection will be on display through the end of the month at the Public Library.

I am so happy that I was able to share my collection at the Library, and be able to share it even more by being in the Newspaper!

My American Girl Dolls Displayed at the Library!

I just love the Historical American Girl books, and that is what started my love for American Girl! My local library is where I get most of the American Girl Books I read. Since reading is what started it all, my family and I thought it would be fun to share our American Girl Collection, and encourage educational reading, by displaying our Historical American Girl Dolls at my local library!!

Here they are in the case! It was so much fun setting them up along with all the Historical books we have. They are all in the order of their time periods, and I also wrote about each Historical American Girl Doll Character.

It is so much fun sharing what I love with other girls! I hope that by this display many girls get to enjoy what I love too! :)
