Does your doll need a safe place to keep her glasses or sunglasses? Make her a cute & stylish case! This is a fun craft that uses simple hand-sewing skills and is a great beginner sewing project. I'll show you how, let's get started!
First you'll need some supplies! Remember you can always substitute these things with whatever you have on hand. Here's what I used:
- Leftover Fabric
- Sewing Needle & Thread
- Measuring Tape/Ruler
- Stick-On Velcro
1. First cut out two rectangles from your felt. One of them should be 3 inches long and 1 inch and a half wide. The other should be 4 and half inches long and 1 inch and a half wide. 2. Cut out cute shapes from your fabric, I went with two hearts. 3. Thread your needle with one strand of thread and begin sewing the fabric shapes on the 3 inch rectangle. 4. I love the look of the hearts! 5. Place the 3 inch felt rectangle on top of the other felt rectangle. 6. Cut a very long piece of thread (I only used two strands). You'll need the thread to be longer than you'd think you would need so you can stitch around the whole case. Thread it on the needle. Start at one side and poke the needle up through the felt. 7. Bring the needle up through the fabric again, then before completing the stitch, slip the needle through the little hole. This stitch will make it a lot easier and look nicer. 8. Keep sewing the edges, all the way to the other side and up around the flap of the case. 9. You're almost done!! 10. Sew or glue a decorative button onto the flap if you'd like. 11. Then cut the stick-on velcro squares in half and put them onto the felt like shown. 12. You've made your doll a glasses case, yay!
I love how it turned out!! Your doll will never lose her glasses or sunglasses again. :)
I hope you have fun making a glasses case for your doll too!! If you do, I'd LOVE to see it! Feel free to send a picture to email@example.com
Happy Crafting! :)
