Summer Fun Doll Photo Gallery: Enter Now!

I can't believe Summer is almost here! Tomorrow I get out of school for Summer Break, and I can't wait to do all the fun summer things I love, especially taking pictures of my American Girl dolls! My dolls are way ahead of me, because they have already started having Summer Fun...

See? hehe

I would love to see your American Girl dolls having Summer fun too, so to kick-off Summer we are going to have a Summer Fun Doll Photo Gallery!

Here's what you have to do to enter the Photo Gallery:

-Take a picture of your American Girl doll(s) doing something summery like wearing summer clothes, sitting by the pool, having a Summer party, whatever you want! In your email tell me your name or nickname, and the names of the American Girl dolls in your picture. (You can include other Non-American Girl dolls in your picture too! So, if you don't have an American Girl doll, you can still enter a picture!)

-Send me your picture by emailing me at email@americangirlfan.com. Please send in only one picture. :)

-Be sure you get your Parent's permission before sending in your picture!

The last day to send in your picture is Monday, June 14th. The fun part is that I am going to try to show all of the pictures sent to me (including yours!), as a post here on my website!!

I think it will be a lot of fun for us all to see different dolls doing different Summer things! Be creative with your picture and Have FUN!

American Girl Amelia's Notebook Find!

As you all know I love books, I am always on the lookout for new book series to read at my library! A few years ago I found a really cool book series called, Amelia's Notebook. The books are written in notebook form by a fictional character named Amelia. She writes about all kinds of things, from school to her older sister Cleo. The books used to be published by American Girl, but now they are published by another book company.

Amelia's Notebooks are written by Marissa Moss, and are filled with drawings and the words even look like real hand-writing!

I really liked the notebooks when I was younger and still like them now! So, when I was at an Anique Mall with my grandparents I was VERY suprised when I found (and bought)...

...An Amelia Carrying Case with lots of Amelia things inside!

The case is really big and has a handle so you can carry it places. :)

When you open up the carrying case it holds an Amelia doll! I was pretty excited when I opened it up at the Anique Mall. :)

Isn't Amelia cute? I think she is! She is about 10 inches and has medal wires in her hands and feet, so she is poseable! She is pretty small compared to my American Girl dolls.

Kit looks like a giant! hehe :)

In the carrying case right next to where the Amelia doll is, there is another comparment that has other Amelia items in it!

The other Amelia items included in the case were Markers, Stickers, My Notebook (a notebook that you can write in, with Amelia's help!), and a Friendship Frame. The "My Notebook" book is from 1997! The Carrying Case and other Amelia items were made by American Girl too!

Here is the Friendship Frame! You can replace the pictures of Amelia and her friend Nadia, with a picture of you and your friend! :)

A Fun Way to Find 18 inch Doll Clothes

I have always loved dolls even before I owned an American Girl doll! I used to have baby dolls, plush dolls, barbie dolls, but one of my favorite kind of dolls was Porcelian dolls! I used to collect them. I didn't have a very large collection, but I loved all the ones I had. :)

A few days ago I was looking in my closet and came across a porcelain doll that my Grandma gave me for my birthday a few years ago. She is a beautiful doll and one of things I love about her is her dress.

That got me thinking. This dress looked a little small, but would it fit American Girl Dolls? I tried to put the dress on Mia, but wasn't patient enough to slowly put on the dress. So, I gave up for that day and decided it didn't fit.

Well, just last Friday I tried again. I tried putting it on Mia, but I realized Mia has a little bit of a bigger body, so, I thought about trying it on Elizabeth.

 (I was surprised how my porcelain doll and Elizabeth look a lot alike! Elizabeth is about two inches taller though.)

I tried it on Elizabeth and.....it Fit! I just had to go outside and take pictures of her in the beautiful dress!

Elizabeth was so pleased with her new (well borrowed) outfit that she had to take a stroll in the park, one of her favorite things to do. Addy let her borrow her bonnet, because she knew it would look beautiful. (Also, Addy knew Elizabeth didn't want freckles on her clear fair-skinned face!)

So, If you ever see a porcelain doll about the size of an American Girl doll at a thrift store or yard sale don't pass it up just because it isn't an American Girl doll! Think about the clothes the doll is wearing! I know when I go to yard sales this summer I will be on the look out for a cheap almost 18 inch Porcelain doll (to add to my collection and also for its clothes!).
