Abbey and Addy had been looking forward to this night since the first of December! Tonight they were going to the Annual Lighted Christmas Walk Festival in town! Abbey and Addy got all dressed up in their fancy coats, there was a big night ahead of them!
As they were walking through some of the snow not yet melted, the moon shown brightly, making shadows of the girls. They both couldn't keep their excitement in, so they both talked on the short walk to town.
"Abbey I am so excited! I know you have seen the lights before, but this is my first time!" Addy told Abbey.
"Oh, it is very exciting," Abbey said sweetly,"I am so happy you could come with me! I know lots of our friends are busy getting things ready for Christmas."
As they were talking they were getting nearer and nearer to town! You see, every year Sunny Meadow has lights all spread out at different destinations of the town. Everyone walks on the sidewalks looking at them, and they are beautiful!
When they got there Abbey couldn't wait to get started walking through the sidewalks! There were lights everywhere! Some lights in the beginning, just made them want to see more!
"Addy, look at that pointsettia! It is so beautiful!" Abbey pointed out.
"Wow!" That is all Addy could say, because she was so overwhelmed. They didn't have any annual lights festival where she used to live in Philadelphia.
They continued to go through all the lights, and they had a lot of favorites!
The girls loved the penguins with the igloo! They were so cute!
"Look, how cool!," Abbey spoke up as they came to lights of lots of men and women in old-fashioned clothes,"Their clothes are beautiful!" Addy could tell that this would be Abbey's favorite of all the lights.
There were lots of lights that moved too! The reindeer flying over the pine tree, was one of them.
After seeing more than 100 different lights, they were nearing the end. The last light was of course...Santa Claus! The girls giggled as the lighted Santa waved at everyone. After a full night of fun, the girls started walking back home, and what would you know...
...Some lights at home greeted them too! :)
