I got a letter in my mailbox recently, from my new friend Alex. She wrote and asked me a really great question about ideas for doll hairstyles, and I thought it would be fun to share with you too!
I have a doll with layered hair which means it's short in the front and long in the back, and it's hard to do ponytails on it without hair dangling out. Do you have a good hairstyle for my doll?
From,
Alex
My doll Mia has layered hair and it can be tricky!! Here are a few hairstyles that you can do on layered doll hair...
French Pigtail. Here's a great way to do a pigtail, without your doll's hair dangling out! Start by making a small ponytail near the top of your doll's head and tie off with a hair tie. Then begin making another small ponytail directly below the first, and gather with the other ponytail's hair, tieing it off with a hairtie. Continue down the line, until you make one final pigtail.
Elegant Sidebraid. This is such a simple, yet pretty hairstyle. Seperate the front layered pieces of hair into three sections and braid around the side. Secure with a fancy bobbypin or clip. You can repeat and do on the other side of your dolls hair too! :)
Criss-Cross Braided Pigtail. I love this sporty style! Begin by gathering some hair near the front of your doll's head and seperate into three sections. Braid and tie off with a hairtie. Gather another section of hair about an inch away from the other braid, and make another braid, tieing it off with a hairtie as well. Bring the two braids together with the rest of the hair to make one pigtail. Afterwards you can undo the hairties still securing the braids and brush out the hair.
I hope these help give you all a little doll hair inspiration, including Alex! :)
