Is your doll going on an Easter egg hunt, but needs a basket to hold all of her goodies? Well, today I'm going to show you how to make your doll her own Easter basket!
Let's get started!
First you will need some supplies:
- An uncoated white paper plate
- Pretty paper of any design or color (You can also use construction paper, line paper, any kind of paper you can decorate!)
- 2 Pipe-cleaners
- Hole Punch
- A Ruler
- Ribbon
- Scissors
- A Pencil
- Tape
- And, a parent or guardian to help you! :)
Once you have all of your supplies, first get your paper plate. Measure the inside of the plate, making sure it's about 5 and a half inches across.
Trace the indented circle with your pencil, and then cut away the rim of the plate.
After you cut out your circle, choose your favorite paper!
Use the paper plate circle as a pattern, and trace around it, onto the back of the pretty paper. Then cut it out with your scissors. (You could also skip this step if you don't have any pretty paper, and use the paper plate circle; coloring it with markers, colored pencils, crayons, anything you want!)
Now you have your pretty paper circle, get your ruler!
Flip over your circle, and measure it, marking the middle (around 7 and half centimeters).
Draw two lines through the middle, making four equal sections.
In the middle of each section, measure and draw a line of 4 and half centimeters. Cut the slits carefully.
Once the slits are all cut, fold the section forward, forming the basket.
Now, get your hole punch, and punch a hole on each side of one section and across the opposite side. You will only have to punch 4 holes.
Your circle should look like this.
Put your circle aside, and get your ribbon. It needs to be a thin enough ribbon to fit through the holes. Cut 10 inches of the ribbon.
Thread your ribbon through the two holes on one side.
Pull the sides of the two flaps together over the flap between them by tying the ribbon into a bow. Do the same thing on the opposite side of the basket.
You're almost done!! Pick two colored pipecleaners to make a handle for your doll's basket.
Twist the two pipecleaners together to make it look pretty!
Finally, cut the pipecleaner at 8 inches, and tape the pipecleaner handle to the inside of your doll's basket.
Yay!! Your doll now has her very own Easter Basket! These are so much fun to make for any occasion! :)
