I've heard some of you are on a snow day, that's so awesome! I wish we had snow here. It has been freezing though, literally -6 at night! In this weather, my dolls need a scarf to go along with their winter headbands.
I'm going to show you how to make this cute frilly scarf for your doll too! Let's get started!
First you need some supplies:
- Fleece, Fabric, or Felt any of these work! I just prefer fleece because it's super soft. The scarf looks pretty with a solid and pattern together, but you can use any colors you have on hand.
- Scissors
- Ruler or Tape Measure
- Thread
- Sewing Needle
Once you have all your supplies, measure your material to 20 inches long and 2 and half inches wide. Then with your scissors cut it out.
Macy was supervising me with the scissors. haha
Do the same with your other color(s) of material until you have 2-3 strips.
Now it's time to get that needle and thread out!
Line up the strips of material and begin making some basic up and down stitches in the middle of the two strips. Continue sewing until you get to the very end of the strips. (If you have sewing machine skills you can do this quicker, but needle & thread is a lot of fun!)
After you sew your last stitch, knot the thread. Yay we're almost done!
With your scissors begin cutting strips into the scarf, a half inch apart to make the frills. Be careful not to cut too far or you will rip your stitches.
Keep cutting until you reach the end, then work on the other side.
Fluff out the scarf before putting it on your doll to give it that frilly look!
And, ta-da!!! Your doll now has a stylish scarf to wear in the chill! :D
If you have some extra material left over you can make other basic scarves for your doll too! So cute!!

Stay warm!
