Happy Chinese New Year! My doll's celebrated today by eating their favorite chinese food...
...Fortune Cookies! I'm going to show you how to some for you and your doll! These are so EASY to make too, let's get started!!
First you will need some supplies:
- Felt in any color (I did traditional tan, but pink and red would be great for Valentine's Fortunes!)
- Scissors
- Piece of Paper
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Sewing Needle
- Matching thread (I just use pink for you all to be able to see it.)
- And a Parent/Guardian to help you!
To make a girl-sized fortune cookie, make a circle 2 inches and half inch wide and high.
And to make a doll-sized fortune cookie, the measurements are 1 inch and half circle. Either way after you make the right measured circle on a piece of paper use it as a guide to cut out a felt circle with your scissors.
After you have your felt circle, it's time to get out the needle and thread!
Fold your felt circle in half and make three simple stitches, just three!
Cut the thread and tie off. Now, here's comes the fun part.
You're going to turn the felt circle inside out! I'm going to show you how to do it better with a video...
After you have your cookie flipped and finished, it's time to make the fortune! Just cut out a tiny slip of paper and write out anything you want! :)
And there you have your own fortune cookies to celebrate Chinese New Year with your doll!
If you make any to share with your doll, I'd LOVE to see! Feel free to send me a picture at [email protected] (Also, CLICK HERE to find out how to make the Chinese lantern Kenley is holding!)
Have a Happy and prosperous Chinese New Year!
