It's almost time to set your doll's table for a delicious Thanksgiving meal! But every table needs to be festive, how about we make some cute turkeys?
These turkeys are so much fun and easy to make! Plus, they are doll-sized!
Let's get started!
First, you'll need some supplies:
- Small Pinecones or Acorns (these are "Table Scatter" I got at Michael's Craft store and the acorns are pretend. They were only a few dollars.)
- Googly Eyes
- Felt in an assortment of fall colors (red, orange, brown, yellow, green)
- Yellow Paper
- Red Paper
- Hot Glue Gun (or regular glue. Hot glue just works best for me)
- And, a parent/guardian to help you!
After you have what you need, pick whether you want to use a pinecone or acorn. I'm going with a pinecone this time.
Pick two googly eyes and glue them on.
Then cut out a small triangle from yellow paper and a sliver of red paper.
Glue those on and your turkey should look like this so far! Now we need to give him some feathers.
Start cutting out a small oval shape from felt. It should be about two inches long.
With your scissors snip the sides a bit and pull the felt to give it a feathered look.
Do the same to all colors of felt, until you have many feathers!
Glue the felt feathers onto the back of your pinecone.
Cute! And, you're almost done!!
Cut out two small triangles and one big triangle out of the yellow paper.
The small triangles are going to be the feet! Glue them onto the bottom of your pinecone.
Then glue the bigger triangle directly below the feet. This will make your turkey be able to stand up without falling down.
Ta-daa! An adorable turkey to decorate your doll's Thanksgiving table!
Rebecca loves her turkeys and can't wait to share them with her friends on Thanksgiving! I hope you have fun making some of these for your doll. If you do, I'd LOVE to see! Feel free to send me a picture at [email protected]
Happy Crafting!
