You can't have Thanksgiving without...Pumpkin Pie! It's one of the most famous desserts of this time of year. If your doll has a craving for some pie of her own, I'm going to show you how to make some!
This pumpkin pie is a bit more difficult to make than my other recipes, but with some extra love and patience (just like in baking), your doll will LOVE it!
Let's get started!
First you'll need some ingredients (supplies!!)...
- Orange Felt
- Tan Felt
- White Puffy Paint
- Scissors
- Cotton Fiberfill (cotton balls and tissues work great too!)
- Sewing Needle and Thread
- Measuring Ruler
- And, a parent/guardian to help you!
Once you have what you need, cut out two orange triangles, one tan triangle, and one tan rectangle. The triangles should be 2 inches long and rectangle should 2 inches long and an inch wide.
Take one of your orange triangles and cut it in half.
Then take one of those small triangles along with your untouched orange triangle. We're going to sew it onto one of the sides.
Start sewing with small simple stitches.
Do this until you reach the end. Then repeat by sewing on the other small triangle onto the other side.
Now both sides are sewn and your pie should start looking like a pie!!
Then begin sewing on your tan triangle to be the bottom crust.
Once you sew both sides of the crust, it's time to give the pie some "filling"!
Put your cotton inside the pie to give it a fluffy look.
Don't forget about that tan rectangle! That's the rest of the crust. Start sewing that where the opening of the pie is. You'll need to sew all four sides.
When that's finished, use your scissors to make a zig-zag look to the crust.
You're almost done! We just need one more finishing touch...
Yes....the WHIP CREAM!
Put a small amount of white puffy paint on top. YUM! :) Be sure to wait for the puffy paint to dry for a couple hours before giving the pie to your doll.
It looks so good!!
Felicity can't wait to dig in! I hope you have fun making some pumpkin pie for your doll. If you do I'd LOVE to see, feel free to send me a picture at [email protected]
Wishing you and your doll a Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy!
