The Chinese New Year Brings Happy News!

Today is Chinese New Year! Julie couldn't wait to celebrate with some of her friends. She decorated the house with pretty handmade lanterns and even made chinese Lo Mein noodles!

Everything smelled delicious...now to wait for her friends to arrive!

"Hmm...I'm hungry. Maybe I can eat a fortune cookie while I wait." Julie said to herself.

She chose one of the cookies, careful to crack it open to get the fortune out.

"Smile! Happy news is on it's way to you." Julie read the fortune aloud. "That's a good one!"

"I wonder what happy news I'm gonna get."

"What do you got there Alley-Oop?" a voice called behind her shoulder. Julie knew that voice!

"IVY!" she yelled. Jumping out of her seat, she wrapped her arms around her friend in a big hug.

The two friends re-united together!

"I didn't know you were coming!" Julie said, still squeezing her tight.

"Well, I couldn't celebrate Chinese New Year without my BFF!" Ivy replied.

"How long are you staying?" Julie asked. "Just for today?"

Ivy shook her head, a grin speading on her face. "Actually...I'm moving here!"

Julie gasped. That was definitely some happy news!!!

As they waited for their other friends to come, Julie and Ivy had fun catching up on all the juicy news since Julie moved away.

They couldn't wait to be able to spend even more time together again!

Julie had a very Happy Chinese New Year!!

I hope you all enjoyed the photostory! And, YES, Ivy has joined my doll family!! I've been keeping it a secret until today...I've been practically bursting with excitment!

One of my best friends was selling some of her dolls and Ivy was one of them. She had been on my wishlist and I had been wanting her for awhile. I'm so blessed and thankful for the great opportunity to be able to buy Ivy and help out my friend at the same time! Thank you so much, Hannah!! Ivy is very happy to be in her new home. Hope's doll Julie is also so excited. :)

I love her and she's in amazing condition! Girls, remember you can always buy dolls second-hand, either from Ebay or someone you know. Adopting dolls is just as special as getting one brand new. Watch out for those opportunities.

Wow, I can't believe it is the last day of January! The month has flown by...but I'm so looking forward to Spring! This week we got some cute doll pictures sent in, let's take a look...

From Ella--I recently visited my friend who bought Isabelle! She is really cute and unique in person! Here she is in the rosette leotard, tutu, and coral legwarmers!

From Elise--We got a lot of snow here and I couldn't resist a photo shoot with Samantha! Sooo, here are three of the pictures (the sunset was gorgeous!!!!)

The outfit she is wearing is a combination of the Ruffled Hoodie outfit, which I got last year, and Isabelle's Coral Sweater, which I ordered and it came in the mail yesterday!

Plus a hat my mom knitted. :) Samantha is off to go play!

Also, from Eunice...my Dad ordered a bunk bed from Ebay! Here's my doll Saige next to the new bed.

The bed was $30 and came with all this(bunk bed, ladder, and 2 sheets)! What a deal!

Doll Hairstyle: A Princess Braid!

Today Elizabeth wanted to be a Princess for the day! I thought it would be fun to share a pretty Rapunzel-inspired style you can do on your doll too. Let's get started!

First take three small sections of hair from the front of your dolls head.

Begin braiding tightly at the top and then stop...

Pull a small extra piece of hair from underneath.

Combine those two pieces together and braid. After each time you braid, repeat these steps, combining small pieces with the braid. (Very much like the Crown Braid)

Continue braiding around your dolls head until you reach her ear. Get out a hairtie and tie off into a ponytail...

After you tie off, braid the remaining hair in the ponytail...

Looking good! You're almost done! After you tie off the next braid, use ribbon in the middle of the braids for a finishing touch! :)

Now you're doll has a hairstyle fit for a Princess!

Dress her up in a fancy dress and place a crown on her head to be a real princess. Don't forget to have her sit on her thrown and wave at all her royal subjects! :)
