The blooming flowers are my favorite thing about Spring! I love all the pretty changes outdoors. When I was at WalMart a few days ago, I found a plain white doll-sized flower pot for only $1. I just had to decorate it!
Today I'm going to share how you can do this too! It's so fun and easy, let's get started! :)
First you'll need some supplies:
- Small Flower Pot (I got mine at WalMart but you can find these at craft stores too)
- Paint (I used leftover spray paint)
- Stickers or other decorations
- Washi Tape/Duct Tape (optional)
- Scissors
- Colored pipecleaners
- Green tissue paper
- And, a parent/guardian to help you!
Once you have all that you need, paint your pot!
I've been trying to get rid of some pink spray paint I bought for another craft project, so I used that. It's a lot quicker to use spray paint, but make sure to always have a parent's help. :) Regular paint works just as well too!
Lay down newspaper when you're painting since it will be a bit messy!
Looks good! Let the paint dry for a few hours before doing anything else with your pot.
When it's dry, it's time to start decorating! I began by putting some cute washi tape along the rim of the pot. I thought it had a spring-y look! :)
Then use stickers! I had these in my stash I got a while back, perfect for the flower pot!
So cute! I love the butterfly. :)
Now that we have a flower pot we need...some flowers! Here's how to make some simple doll-sized flowers using pipecleaners:
First, choose a colored pipecleaner and bend to make a small oval. Give it a twist. Repeat to make all four petals. Then, take a yellow pipecleaner and wrap it around the center. Leave a small piece not twisted at the back and place a green pipecleaner underneath it to be the stem. Fold down. Cut away any extra green pipecleaner to make it doll-sized.
Make a few flowers and use some green tissue paper to put inside the pot. Then you can give it to your doll to enjoy! :)
Kit loves the flowers!
This flower pot can brighten up your doll's room or your own! I love how it can be used as a decoration for yourself too. :)
I hope you have fun making a pot for your doll! If you do, I'd love to see! Feel free to send me a picture at [email protected]
