You can't have Easter, without Peeps! These colorful little bunnies are so cute and yummy, I thought it would be fun to make some for my dolls to enjoy.
They are so cute and easy to make too! Let's hop to it! ;)
First you'll need some supplies:
- Felt in a Peep color (yellow, pink, purple, blue, orange, green)
- Bunny Paper Pattern
- Scissors
- Needle & Thread
- Brown Paint
- Toothpick
- Polyfill or Cottonballs
- And, a parent/guardian to help you!
Note: If you don't like sewing, you can always substitute with glue!
Before we get into how to make the Peeps, here is the free pattern! There are three different sizes you can choose from. One is large enough to be a stuffed plush for your doll, one is the actual size of real peep, and the last one is small enough for your doll to eat. ;)
Click the link or picture above to print out the pattern. (You will need the free Adobe Acrobat reader to download and print, but your computer may already have it, if not you can get it at Adobe.com)
Once you have all you need, cut out the bunny pattern around the black line.
Place the pattern onto the felt and cut around it.
You'll need to cut out two matching bunnies. :)
Place one bunny on top of the other and get out your needle and thread. Stitch around the bunnies to sew them together.
Once you're halfway done sewing, put in polyfill or cotton to stuff your Bunny Peep.
Use a pencil or craft stick to push down the polyfill so it's all the way stuffed.
Sew up the remaining felt and you have your Peep!!
Now you just have to add a little face with brown paint.
Use a toothpick to apply it easier. Doesn't it look cute?! Make sure the paint is dry before giving it to your doll!
Saige loves her little Bunny Peep family! But one thing is missing, their names! Could you help her name them? :)
I hope you have fun making some for your doll! They could even be nice Easter gifts for friends and family. Don't forget to make one for yourself too. ;)
If you do, I'd love to see your Bunny Peep! Feel free to send me a picture at [email protected]
Happy Easter Crafting! :)
