Goodbye April, hello May! To celebrate May Day tomorrow I gave Samantha a brand new hairstyle, using one of my favorite accessories...ribbon!
Doing this hairstyle is super easy and looks so pretty! Here's how you can do it too:
First you'll need to put your dolls hair up in a bun. You can find a video on how I did her fancy bun at this post, HERE.
Then it's time to move onto the ribbon! Any color or size works, I just used what I had laying around in my craft stash. I also used a tapestry needle which is a big needle with a large eye and blunt point. If you don't have a tapestry needle you can also use a bobbypin to thread it through.
Next it's time to weave the ribbon through the hair. Thread the ribbon through over and under like you would with sewing.
Keep going and thread both sides before the ribbon meets at the back of your doll's head.
Below the bun tie a loose bow. Make sure to not pull too tight!
Doesn't it look beautiful!?
Samantha is ready for all that May will bring!
She loved these purple flowers in our yard and wanted to pose for a small photoshoot! haha
This hairstyle would look perfect on any doll with medium to long hair, straight or curly. I just love it and it has quickly become one of my favorites!
I hope you have trying this out on your doll! If you do, I'd LOVE to see! Feel free to send me a picture at [email protected]
What are you looking forward to about May? I'm definitely excited about warmer weather and hopefully we'll be able to get our pool up during Memorial Day! :)
Happy Styling! ;)
