Here's a fun doll craft by my friend Kaitlyn as part of From a Friend Friday! Enjoy! :)
Hey guys! I decided to do the converse tutorial, since they got the most amount of requests last week.
You will need:
* White craft foam and craft foam in a color of your choice
* Yarn to match your foam
* Scissors
* Ruler
* Hot glue gun
* Doll shoe to trace
You will need to cut out all these shapes. Trace the doll shoe 4 times to get the sole. cut two white strips about 1/4 inch tall and 7 1/2 inches long...
The half moon shape should be a little less than 2 inches long...
This piece should should be about 4 3/4 inches long at the bottom edge. the sides need to be angled in, so the top edge would probably be between 5 and 5 1/4 inches long...
The very middle should be a little bit less than 3/4 inch.
The top of the humps should be about 7/8 inch.
The end of it should be 1/2 inch.
You will also need to cut 2 shapes like this for the tongues of the shoes. they should be a bit more than 1 1/4 inches wide...
And a little bit less than 1 1/4 inches tall at the tallest point. You will have to curve down on both sides slightly and round the edges.
First glue two of the white shoe pieces together, putting the glue not quite to the edges.
It should look like this.
Next glue on your long strip like pictured.
Then glue on your half moon shape.
Fold this piece in half...
And glue the middle of the sole to the middle of the other piece and the glue the rest of it in.
Then glue the tongue in. Just put a line of hot glue on the bottom edge of the tongue and glue it the top edge of the white piece. Don't glue it too far down!
Cut a strip of the color you chose and fold it in half and glue it along the bottom edge, then glue it in the shoe.
Get your yarn and put hot glue on the ends wait about 5-10 seconds, then roll it back and forth between your fingers until dry. The ends should be something like the ends of a real shoelace.
Poke two holes with your scissors on each side where the shoelaces should go and then thread them through the holes and you are done!
Here is what the finished shoes should look like!
McKenna is wearing an outfit I modeled after the easy breezy outfit from AG! Hope you have fun making some for your doll!
