Bulletin Boards sure come in handy! I love ribbon ones especially because it's easy to put all of my favorite things on--quotes, letters, pictures, and anything else cute! Today I'm going to show you how to make a bulletin board for your doll. Let's get started!
First you'll need some supplies:
- Sheet of Cork (I actually got this in a set of 4 at Walmart for really cheap! It was near the office supply section next to the full-sized bulletin boards)
- Pretty Ribbon
- Scissors (Make sure they are strong enough to cut through the cork)
- Glue Dots (You could use hot glue/regular glue too, but these were easier for me)
- Five Buttons
After you have all that you need, cut out a rectangle from your cork. To be doll-sized, make it six inches long and four and a half inches wide.
Then get out your ribbon! Cut a small strip and place it on a corner of the cork.
Flip it over and add glue dots to the back of the ribbon, then lay it down flat to hold it in place.
Now it should look something like this! Do the same to the other three corners. Also, be sure that you only put glue dots in the back of the ribbon, you want the front to be a little loose.
Looking good! :)
Cut two other pieces of ribbon about 11 inches long.
Cross them over like an "X" on the bulletin board. Then flip over and secure with more glue dots.
After that's done, add buttons on the "X's" for a pretty final touch!
Finally, take a small piece of ribbon and loop it like shown to attach to the back. Doing this makes it easy to hang up your doll's bulletin board.
And, ta-da! You've made your doll a one-of-a-kind ribbon bulletin board!!
Using another glue dot, put it on the ribbon loop and attach it to the wall so that your doll can see it! Decorate it with all kinds of little reminders and pictures. :)
Cecile loves her bulletin board! She can't wait to use it more during the school year too! I hope you have fun making one for your doll! If you do, I'd LOVE to see! Feel free to send me a picture at [email protected]
Happy Crafting! :)
