Bowling Practice with Mia and Kenley!

"All set, huh?" Mia said to Kenley as she set her gym bag on the patio. When the school year started the both of them were playing with the City League Bowling Team. But before then, they needed some practice!

Kenley nodded. "Yep, I'm ready! Are you?"

"Totally!" Mia replied. "How about you go first though."

Kenley eagerly grabbed the bowling ball out of Mia's hands and walked a good distance away from the pins. Relaxing her shoulders, she lined up the ball and swung her arm back...

The bowling ball slipped from her fingertips and sped towards the pins. Kenley held her breath as the ball knocked down every pin but one.

"Wow! On your first turn too!" Mia exclaimed. "You're going to be the best on the team for sure!"

"Thanks! But I think I just got lucky." Kenley smiled shyly as Mia gave her a high five. 

After Kenley took another turn and got a spare, she set up the pins again for Mia.

Mia lined up her shot much like Kenley and let go of the bowling ball.

One pin went down, and another...and another....and another....

...until, she got a STRIKE! 

"Woo-hoo!" Kenley shouted, pulling Mia into a hug. "That was amazing!"

Mia laughed. "Guess we both got lucky today!" 

After a full game of bowling, the girls couldn't wait to meet their other team members. They had a good feeling they were going to win many games this season!

Doll Hairstyle: How to do a Fishtail Braid!

Fishtail braids. A step up from a normal braid and a hairstyle I've had my eye on for the longest time. Even my mom did this style on me one day and I loved it! But...it looked hard, so I didn't think to try it out.

Well, guess who finally learned how to do a fishtail braid?!

This girl, that's who! To my surprise, it was EASY. And totally cute too! I'm going to show you how to do it...and trust me, it isn't as hard as it looks!

To start out, you'll need to give your doll's hair a little spritz with a spray bottle. This will help get rid of fly-aways and tangles.

Then take two small pieces from the front of your doll's head.

Cross those pieces over.

Take note of what piece is on top of the criss-cross, from the left or right side. Depending on which is on top, take a new small piece of hair from the opposite side. For instance, I'm taking from the right side.

Pull that over to join with the other left side piece.

While keeping a tight hold on the rest of the hair, take another small piece from the left side.

Pull that over to the right side. Continue taking one small piece from each side and pulling over.

Guess what? You're fishtail braiding!

When you run out of hair but want to make the braid longer, don't worry! Just continue taking small pieces from these two sections of hair.

See? No problem!

As you reach the end, you're almost done!

Tie off with a hairtie and add a pretty bow for a nice touch! And, ta-da! You've made a fishtail braid!

Elizabeth loves this style and I can't wait to do it on my other dolls! Trying new things is so much fun! :)

American Girl Mini Caroline Doll Review!

For Christmas last year some sweet friends of mine surprised me with the Caroline Mini Doll as a gift in the mail! I've always loved the American Girl Mini Dolls and have a few others, but never thought about getting the Caroline mini. I didn't expect that I'd like her so much! I was looking at her the other day and realized I haven't shared many pictures of her, so here's my "mini" review. ;)

Mini Caroline is so pretty and detailed! I love how her little dress is a replica of the big Caroline. The pale pink color fits her very well! :)

Her hair isn't curly in ringlets like the big Caroline doll, but it is wavy and very light blonde. I really like how long it is and high quality! It would have been nice if it had been curlier, but I understand that on the mini doll it probably wouldn't have looked as good and would've gotten more tangled. 

Her little face is so sweet! The painted eye color is a beautiful teal blue and unique compared to the other minis. 

Abbey has claimed Caroline as her own and we both love her! I totally recommend her too!
