I know you're probably thinking, "Upside down...what?!" Well, this is my different take on a traditional waterfall braid and it's so much easier. Plus, it looks gorgeous! Want to know how to do it? Let's go!
First take a small section of hair from one side of your doll's head.
Seperate into three sections like with a normal braid.
Cross the left section over the middle section.
Then cross the right section over the middle section. But, now, STOP braiding. Take the left section you braided first and drop it.
This is where the upside down part comes in. Grab a new small piece of hair from the bottom (unlike the top in a traditional waterfall braid). Add the new piece into the braid.
Cross over the right and middle section again, before dropping the left piece of hair. Continue grabbing a small piece of new hair from the bottom, braiding halfway, and dropping the pieces.
Keep going until you reach the middle of your doll's head, then braid normally. You can either secure with a hairtie or bobbypin.
And, you're done! This style you can do so much with. Either leave it down or bring the hair into a bun or ponytail. This would work on dolls with straight hair or curly too!
Elizabeth loves this upside-down waterfall braid style and I hope you do too! If you try it out on your doll's I'd LOVE to see. Feel free to send me a picture at [email protected]
Happy Styling! :)
