Last week when I wrote about Addy's collection, I got a question if her hair is hard to handle since it's rough and textured. That gave me the idea to talk and show you comparisons between some of my doll's textured/curly hair!
Cecile is very excited to get into this topic! ;)
First, here is a comparison of Addy's textured hair and Cecile's textured curls. They are extremely different not just in how their hair feels, but the colors too! Addy's hair is more of a coal color and Cecile's is a dark black with a bit of reddish tint.
Addy's hair is way softer than it looks too and very easy to brush through. American Girl recommends using a doll hair pick, but I've used a brush on it and it's totally fine.
Just because her hair is textured doesn't change the ways you can style it, you can do so much with it! I rarely keep her hair down because it has the tendency to be "poofy", but not frizzy. To answer the question if it's hard to handle, I don't think so. :) I love to do braids & buns on her hair the most! (Click HERE for Addy hairstyle ideas)
Cecile's hair is much different and in my opinion, a bit harder to handle than Addy's. Her curls aren't crunchy like you'd expect, they are quite soft and bouncy. But since it's curly her hair tends to get a bit more frizzy. I spritz some water and fingercurl it to decrease the frizz. You can style Cecile's hair, but you have to be a little bit more careful.(Click HERE for Cecile hairstyle ideas)
Now, let's talk curly hair some more! Here's the difference between Hope's doll Kenley (My AG doll), Rebecca, and Cecile.
Kenley and Cecile's hair are very similar in texture, but the curls are a different shape.
Rebecca's hair is smooth and bouncy, and Kenley's is more wavy. Rebecca's bouncy hair likes to do it's own thing sometimes, while Kenley/Cecile's ringlets usually stay in place. (For more info on how to take care of Rebecca's curls, click HERE)
