Dressing up is so much fun, especially if it's for a fancy party! Today I'm going to show you how to make a masquerade-themed mask for your doll.
Who's that girl behind the mask? Shh, don't reveal her secret! Let's get started! ;)
First you'll need some supplies:
- Craft Foam
- Scissors
- Colorful Feathers
- Puffy Paint
- Glue
- Ribbon
- And, the Doll Mask Pattern
Before we get into the craft, here's the free pattern!
Click the link or picture above to print out the pattern. And, once you have all you need, cut out the mask pattern.
Place the pattern on craft foam, then trace it or trim around it as a guide.
When that's done, it's time for the fun part...feathers!!
Put some glue at the top of the mask and choose which feather you'd like. There are so many different kinds of feathers you could use, but I went with bright and colorful!
Continue putting on feathers. Remember that this is the back of the mask and if it's messy don't worry, that won't be visible.
See? Just flip the mask over and the feathers look amazing!
Add more decorations! I decided to put sparkly silver puffy paint around the rim of the mask. If you use paint make sure you let it dry all the way before doing anything else. (Or with a parent's help, you can use a hair dryer on a low heat setting)
Now for the finishing touch, ribbon!
Cut two pieces of ribbon around twelve inches in length. Then, glue to the backsides of the mask.
Beautiful! The last thing you need to do, is tie the mask on your doll.
The mystery girl is all ready for the party to begin!
I hope you enjoy making a mask for your doll! There are tons of ways you could decorate it, you could even make it into a superhero mask. :)
