Every year my dolls and I love to put up homemade decorations, it's nice to see things made from past years! This time I decided to make a festive doll rug to put in their room.
This craft is so much fun and easy too! Let's get started!
First you'll need some supplies:
- Yarn in any color (I used red, green, and white to be festive!)
- Construction paper
- Glue (I used a glue gun but regular glue works just as good)
- Scissors
After you have all you need, cut out a circle of construction paper 10 inches long and 10 inches high.
Then place a dot of glue directly in the middle of the construction paper circle. Place a piece of yarn on top of the glue, then begin wrapping more yarn in a spiral fashion, adding more glue as you go. When you have a decent sized circle, add a new color of yarn and continue wrapping the yarn around and around. Add another color of yarn again if you'd like, until you have no more room on the circle.
As a final touch, flip your doll rug over and glue small pieces of yarn around the bottom rim to make a fringe.
And, there you have a doll rug! A great festive addition to your doll's room. You could also make the rug in any color, for all seasons! I think my dolls want a pink one next. :)
Cecile loves the rug and can't wait to put up more decorations soon!
I hope you have fun making your doll a rug too! If you do, I've LOVE to see! Feel free to send me a picture at [email protected]
Happy Holiday Crafting! :)
