When we had the fabulous Frozen dresses giveaway provided by WeeLine last month, many of you had asked how I did Elizabeth's hair. I took inspiration from Elsa's braid and did my own twist!
What I did was similar to the Crown Braid Hairstyle. The only big difference is that I started all the way at the far right side of Elizabeth's head near her ear and made three small sections. While holding my doll between my knees I turned her head towards the floor and braided the three strands together once. Sounds weird, but moving my doll seemed to the trick and get a nice tight starting braid at the side.
Then I took a small section from the top and added it to the braid. Braided once. Then added another strand, keeping it loose enough to be able to still see the sections I pulled from the remaining hair. I continued braiding until it reach Elizabeth's other ear, then I secured with a clear hairtie. Clear hairties are nearly invisible and I LOVE them. (Mine are just girl ones from Walmart in the hair section)
Then I took the rest of the hair and made a thick braid, which covered the hairtie fully. A few pieces were sticking out funny so I used a small bobbypin. You can see the bobbypin in the picture above if you squint. haha
I definitely didn't get this hairstyle on the first try and was very patient while doing it. I hope this helps you and that you try it out too! Challenging yourself to do new doll hairstyles is so much fun!
Happy Styling! :)
