Every doll needs a stocking of her own to be filled with candy and treats! Today I'm going to show you a simple way to make one for your doll this Christmas. Let's get started!
First you'll need some supplies:
- Felt of any color
- Scissors
- Glue
- Ribbon
- Glitter Glue
- Pipecleaners (optional)
- Any other decorations
- Doll Stocking Pattern
Before we get into the instructions, here is the free pattern printable for the stocking.
Click the link or picture above to print it out.
1. After you cut out the pattern, place on top of the felt and cut around the pattern as a guide. 2. You will need to cut out two of the stocking shapes. 3. Take one of the stocking shapes and glue around the edges. Make sure to not put glue on the top!! 4. Glue the two stocking shapes together. 5. Cut out a piece of ribbon about two inches long, put a dot of glue and fold down to make a loop 6. Glue the ribbon on the inside corner of the stocking.
Now to decorate the stocking! I took a light pink piece of felt and cut it into a thick rectangle to put on the top of the stocking.
I had these glittery pipecleaners lying around, so I thought they'd work great! I cut them about two inches long.
Then I glued to the bottom rim of the other piece of felt.
Finally, I used glitter glue to spell out my doll's name, Mia got this stocking. :)
Now you can give the stocking to your doll! Hopefully there will be something inside it on Christmas morning. :)
These stockings are so fun to make and I love how there are many possiblities to decorate them! I hope you have fun making one for your doll too. If you do, I'd LOVE to see! Feel free to send me a picture at [email protected]
Happy Holiday Crafting! :)
