An infinity scarf is a must-have for Winter! I've been wearing lots when I go outdoors to keep away the chilly nip in the air. They aren't only practical, but also fashionable and I love them! My doll's were in need of a few of their own, so I made them myself!
These are super cute and best of all, easy! Want to learn how to make one for your doll? Let's get started!
First you'll need some supplies:
- Fabric (I fell in love with these two prints at JoAnn's and got a half-yard each which was only a few dollars. You can also use an old t-shirt or any extra fabric you have around your house.)
- Scissors
- Tape Measure or Ruler
- Sewing Needle & Thread
1. Measure and cut out a piece of fabric 26 inches long and 4.5 inches wide. 2. Fold your fabric, making sure the pretty side is facing down. 3. Your fabric should look something like this now. 4. Take your sewing needle & thread and begin sewing the long side. Make sure you leave about an inch of room between the opening and your first stitch, this will make things much easier later. 5. Keep on sewing simple stitches, don't worry if they aren't lined perfectly, this is a very forgiving project. You can also use a sewing machine instead to speed up the process. 6. Tie off the the thread after you've completely sewn the side.
7. Take one of the opened sides and turn the fabric inside out again. 8. Keep going until it's all flipped to the pretty part of the fabric. 9. Take a look at your sewn seam, doesn't it look good?! 10. Bring both of the small openings together. 11. Put one of the openings inside the other, lining it up evenly. 12. Sew together.
Now your doll's infinity scarf is finished!!
To put it on your doll, just slip over her head once and then twice again. The scarves are so awesome and I love how they can dress up the simplest doll outfit!
Make lots of infinity scarves in different patterns and colors! Kenley and Saige are loving theirs! :)
