Doll Food Craft: How to Make Tarts!

Is your doll craving something sweet? Here's some yummy tarts that you can make for your doll's next tea party! I'll show you how to make them, let's get started!

First you need some supplies:

• Felt in browns and bright colors of your choice (I like pinks and reds!)
• Ruler
• Scissors
• Poly-fill or cottonballs
• Thread in pretty colors
• Sewing Needle
• Paper (to make the circle patterns)

Once you have your supplies, it's time to make some circles. Draw a circle 2 and half inches across and tall. Then cut out.

Make another smaller circle 1 and half inch across and tall, cut that one out too.

Using those circle patterns, put them your felt and trace around with your scissors. You need two big felt circles (in browns) and one small felt circle (in any color you like).

Now that you have your felt cut out and ready, get out your thread and needle. For this project, you don't need to have any amazing sewing skills, you're just going to do a few fun simple stitches. :)

Place your small circle on one of your big circles and lay your other big circle aside. Start out with any color thread you like and begin making stitches on the small felt circle. These are going to be your sprinkles! As you can see in the picture above you can jump around with the stitches, the messiness is going to be covered up later. Keep making stitches with other colors of thread until you cover your whole tart in sprinkles.

To make the tart even prettier, cut out a small heart from red felt.

Get your other big felt circle you laid aside and place it under the other circle. Begin making large stitches around the perimeter of the circle. As you do, pull the thread taunt to make ridges, like a real tart! When you are halfway around the circle, stop and get a small amount of poly-fill or a cottonball. Put that through the opening to fill up your tasty treat.

Sew up the rest of the felt, keeping the thread taunt and tie off. Ta-da, you're done!! Now you can give the tart to your doll to enjoy!

I can't believe Valentine's Day is right around the corner! It's one of my very favorite holidays and I love sharing Valentines with friends, so I'm having my 4th Annual Valentine's Day Card Exchange!

Make sure to get your Parent's Permission before sending a card. Also, please remember to put your return address on your envelope so I will know where to send a card to you. I will send out Valentines as soon as I get them and the exchange will go on for all of February. :)

Doll Craft: Make Doll Bakery Bags {With Free Printable}!

When you go to a bakery, you can't come out without at least one tasty treat to take home! Many bakeries have super cute bags to put your yummy purchases in. I loved the ones in Grace's Bakery Set, I wanted to make some for my dolls too! Want to know how to make them? Let's get started!

First you need some supplies:

• Pretty Cardstock
• Mini Bags sized 3 in x 2 in x 4 in
• Black Ribbon
• Stick Glue
• Scissors
• Pencil
• Bakery Bag Decoration Logos

Print Doll Bakery Bag Decorations

I made my own decoration logos based on Grace's bakery and you can use them too! Just click on the link or picture above to print out your printable.

Just a note about these mini bags--I found in the party/giftwrap section at Michael's Craft Store. They are a great deal since they come in a pack of 6. I used the white ones, but they had some brown ones too. 

1. Put glue all over the handle of the bag. 2. Begin wrapping ribbon around the handle, adding more glue as you go. 3. Keep going until the whole handle is wrapped in ribbon. If there are some spots showing, go over it again with another layer of ribbon. 4. All done! 5. Lay the bag flat on the backside of your cardstock. With a pencil mark the bottom and top of the bag, so it will be the right measurement to cut. You could also just cut around the bag, using it as a guide. The pencil method is safer though. 6. Cut out the rectangle of cardstock.

Glue the cardstock onto the front of the bag. Then it's time to put on a decoration logo! There are three different ones to choose from. {Fun Fact: They translate to The Small Pastry Shop or Bakery, and The Pastry Shop/The Bakery} I decided to go with one of the blue ones.

And, you're finished!! Doesn't it look so sweet?
