You know how the Julie doll comes with a little braid hairstyle? Well, my sister had kept that braid in Julie's hair ever since she got her. It was just so perfect, neither of us wanted to mess it up. But a few days ago, we knew it was time to take it out!
The crimp the braid left behind has calmed down quite a bit. I brushed it a lot, then washed the section once with a light conditioner. I also kept Julie's hair in a tight ponytail for a week. Today I've been having a lot of fun creating new hairstyles on Julie! This braid is definitely an upgrade from her other one. The Waterfall Twist Braid works well on all dolls with long hair and is so pretty!
Here's how to create the look:
1. Grab two small sections on one side of your doll's head. 2. Cross the right section over the left section. 3. Grab another small piece of hair from the top of your doll's head. 4. Put this piece in the middle of your other right and left sections. 5. Bring the right section over your other piece. 6. Drop the piece of hair and don't do anything else with it. You should still be keeping hold of your right and left sections. Cross the right section over the left section. This creates the "twist". 7. Repeat what you did before, grabbing another little piece at the top of your dolls head. 8. Put this next piece in the middle. Bring the right piece over the other section again. Drop the piece of hair and don't do anything else with it. 9. Continue with this method, going across your doll's head. 10. It will start getting the "waterfall" look!
Keep going until you reach the other side of your doll's head. Bring the remaining pieces of the braid to the front and secure with a clear elastic hairtie.
Pull the hair tight so that the hairtie goes up into the braid. Then place some of the hair over the hairtie so that it's hidden. You could also use a bobbypin instead, either way works! :)
And there you have a Waterfall Twist Braid!
The top looks like a crown, I love it! :)
Julie's so happy to get a new style! :)
I hope that you have fun trying this out on your doll! If you do, I'd LOVE to see! Feel free to send me a picture at [email protected]
Happy Styling!
