Sushi is one exotic food that I love! It really is an acquired taste and took me a few tries to like it, but now I do! And, I thought it'd be fun to create mini Sushi for my American Girl dolls today. These are so cute and very easy to make. I'll show you how! :)
First you'll need some supplies:
- White Foam
- Pink Foam
- Green Foam
- Orange Foam
- Dark Green Felt
- Scissors
- Pinking Shear Scissors (optional)
- Glue
- Ruler (optional)
1. To make the sushi, first use pinking shears or cut your own zig-zags around white foam. Make this 4 inches long and a half inch wide. 2. Cut out the other pieces of craft foam. The orange, green, and pink foam should be around an inch or a half inch long. Cut the green felt two and half or three inches. 3. Roll up the orange, green, and pink foam to be the fillings inside, then glue in place. 4 & 5. After they are all rolled up put them together like a mini pyramid like shown and glue. 6. Put the attached pieces on the white foam aka the rice! Roll it all up, then glue. 7. It should look something like this! 8. My dark green felt was like a sticker on the back which made it sooo much easier. I got it in a pack of other colors at Walmart. :) 9. Roll the felt around the foam to be the seaweed. 10. And, you're finished!!
Doesn't it look good?!
I cut some wooden skewers to be chopsticks and I love how they turned out!
I hope you have fun making some sushi for your dolls! If you do, I'd LOVE to see! Feel free to send me a picture to [email protected]
Happy Crafting, enjoy! :)
