I love pretty decorative cookies and thought it'd be fun to make some for my dolls! I went with butterflies this time and they turned out so good!! They were super easy and I even have a free pattern you can use. Let's get started!
First you'll need some supplies:
- Craft Foam (I used tan and bright colors)
- Scissors
- Glue Dots or Stick Glue
- Puffy Paint, Regular Paint, or Even Markers! Anything that you have on hand. I had white puffy paint and metallic purple leftover from another craft I did.
- Butterfly Pattern
Before we get into how to make the craft, here's the free butterfly pattern!
Click the link or picture above to print it out. (Be sure to download and print at “Actual Size” from a PDF reader like Adobe Reader. If you save & print directly from your browser, it might not print at the right size.)
1. Cut out both butterfly patterns, there will be a larger one and a smaller one. You'll need to use both for the craft. 2. Place the larger butterfly pattern on the tan foam and cut around it. 3. Place the smaller butterfly pattern on another foam color of your choice and cut around it. 4. Now you should have two foam butterflies! 5. Put the smaller butterfly on top of the larger one. Use glue dots or stick glue to secure. 6. Here comes the fun part, decorating!! I used white puffy paint to make the butterflies middle. 7. Then I traced around the wings with the paint. 8. Finally, I added cute polka dots! You can do this with regular paint or markers too...it's up to you to decide!
They look almost too cute to "eat"! ;)
Which one is your favorite? The possibilities are endless when it comes to decorating these cookies!
I hope you have fun making some butterfly cookies for your doll! If you do, I'd LOVE to see! Feel free to send me a picture to [email protected]
Enjoy! :)
Psst...Tomorrow is From A Friend Friday! If you have a doll picture or video that you'd like to share with us, there's still time! Just email me soon at [email protected] :)
