I love vintage fashion and have been adoring the looks of 1950s-1960s lately, with their vibrant dresses and big flipped hair. So, I thought why not try a vintage hairstyle on my doll? I'm going to share how you can do it too!
1. First take a small section at the middle and coil it in a mini bun on top of your doll's head. I secured mine with a mini clip, but you can use a bobbypin or hairtie too. 2. Gather some hair from the front of both sides of your doll's head, making sure to leave a little hanging on your doll's forehead. 3. Use a doll hairbrush or pick to smooth out the hair. 4. Then pull the hair over the bun. 5. Secure with another clip, bobbypin, or hairtie, pushing it up a bit to give it more of a poof. 6. Looks good!! 7. Now take a piece of ribbon and tie it around your doll's head to be a headband, making the knot at the nape of her neck. 8. Brush your doll's hair upwards at the side to make flippy curls. If your doll has straight hair you could spritz with water and use rollers or curl under.
I love how it turned out! Rebecca looks like she came straight out of the beauty shop. ;)
The glittery chevron ribbon I picked up at Michael's Craft Store is beautiful too!
I hope you have fun trying this vintage style on your doll! If you do, I'd love to see! Feel free to send me a picture at [email protected]
Happy Styling! :)
