Add a little sparkle to your doll's outfit this weekend with a Fireworks Crown! This is so much fun to make and I love how patriotic it looks. Want to know how to do it too? Let's get started!
First you'll need some supplies:
- Pipe cleaners
- Scissors
- Measuring Tape
You can use either regular or sparkly pipe cleaners of any color. (I got the red, silver, and blue ones in a big pack of other colors at Michael's Craft Store.) I used 2 red pipe cleaners, 2 silver, 3 blue cut in half, 3 red cut in half, and 6 silver cut in half.
1. Start by taking both of your full-length red pipe cleaners and crossing the tips over in an X shape. 2. Twist together to make one long pipe cleaner. 3. Measure to 13 inches and cut with scissors. 4. Wrap the full-length silver pipe cleaner over the red one. Use another silver pipe cleaner if you run out. 5. Form into a circle and twist the ends together to create the crown. 6. To make a starburst firework shape, first cross one red pipe cleaner over a blue one. 7. Place a silver pipe cleaner in the middle of the X. 8 & 9. Wrap it around the middle. 10. Cut each of the pipe cleaners to about 2 inches. 11. Looking good! 12. Now take another silver pipe cleaner and place over the shape. Wrap it around. 13. Snip the top of the pipe cleaner if you need to. 14. Wrap the remaining pipe cleaner around the crown. Repeat these steps twice more to make three fireworks. And, you're done!
The crown is so festive!! Samantha looks ready for some 4th of July fun! :)
You can also use the same technique to make a cute sparkler for your doll!
I hope you enjoy the craft! If you do, I'd LOVE to see! Feel free to send me a picture to [email protected]
Happy Crafting! :)
