Back in the 1900s, the time of Rebecca & Samantha, girls used to wear BIG hair bows on top of their heads. Thankfully the fashion trend of hair bows has stuck around since then, I love them!
Here's an easy way you can make some for your doll using one of my favorite craft materials--felt!
First you'll need some supplies:
- Felt
- Scissors
- Glue or Glue Gun
- Plain Clip or Barrette
- Ruler or Measuring Tape
1. Start by cutting your felt in three different pieces: 6 inches long and 1.5 inches wide, 4.5 inches long and 2.5 inches wide, and 2 inches inches long and a half inch wide. 2. Cut triangles from the center and ends of the longest piece. 3. Pinch together the center of the other piece of felt. (If you want, you can glue the felt in this position) 4. Pinch the other strip of felt underneath. 5 & 6. Wrap the smallest piece of felt around the center and secure with glue. Then glue on the hair clip or barrette on the back of the bow, and you're finished!
The purple bow looks beautiful in Rebecca's curly hair!
If you try out this craft, I'd LOVE to see! Feel free to send a picture to me at [email protected]
Happy Crafting! :)
