My doll's wear headbands all the time, so I made some new ones using Duck Tape! I absolutely love how they turned out! You can make them with any pattern or color tape which adds to the fun too. I'll show you how, let's get started...
First you need some supplies:
- Duck Tape
- Elastic Stretch Cord (I found this kind in the sewing aisle at Walmart)
- Scissors
- Measuring Tape/Ruler
1. Start by cutting a piece of Duck Tape 8 inches long. 2. Flip the tape over to the sticky side and fold it up a half inch. 3. Fold it one more time, leaving another half inch of sticky tape at the top. 4. Cut a piece of elastic cord 4 and a half inches. 5. Place the cord on one side of the tape. 6. Fold the tape over the elastic. 7. Place the cord on the other side and fold over again making sure the tape is nice and secure. 8. And, you're done!!
Now your doll has a new headband to wear to school! I think Grace's hair looks adorable with this tie-dye Duck Tape. :)
If you make a headband for your doll too, feel free to send me a picture to [email protected]. I'd love to see!!
Happy Crafting! :)
