Doll Hairstyle: Topsy Turvy Faux Fishtail Braid!

Fishtail braids have such a beautiful, trendy look to them! I've done a previous post on how to create that hairstyle, but for the ones who want the look in a different way, I have the style for you: The Faux Fishtail Braid! Great for the breezy Spring days ahead and it looks amazing on Lea. Here's how you can do it...

1. Begin by taking a small piece of hair from the front and twist it towards the back. Do this to the other side and secure both pieces with a hair tie. 2. Flip the hair inwards around itself. 3. Take another piece of hair from each side under the previous flip and secure. 4. Flip the new secured section, like you did in step two. 5. Repeat the same steps as many times as you want for either a short or long faux fishtail. 6. Pull the hair out to add volume to the style. You can also tie the end with a bow or us another hair accessory. And, you're done!! 

So pretty!!

Doll Craft: Make A Flower Crown For Ivy's Birthday!

Happy Birthday Ivy! To celebrate her birthday on February 28th, I had fun making this easy flower crown. It fits her 1970s style and looks absolutely beautiful on her. Here's how you can make one too!

The supplies you need are:

• Craft Foam
• Two Green Pipe Cleaners
• Scissors
• Flower Printable Pattern

Print Flower Crown Pattern

Click the link or picture above to print it out. (Be sure to download and print at “Actual Size” from a PDF reader like Adobe Reader. If you save & print directly from your browser, it might not print at the right size.)

You can cut out your own foam flowers or use the pattern I created. Once you have the pattern cut out, place it on the craft foam and cut around the pattern to make lots of flowers. I made mine with groovy colors! ;)

Next, twist on the second pipe cleaner to make the crown long enough to fit on your doll's head. I had to measure the combined pipe cleaners around Ivy's head to get the right fit. After that, poke one end of the pipe cleaner through one of the flowers. Pull it through and poke it down into the foam once more. Continue threading on the flowers this way until the pipe cleaner is full of them. Then twist both ends together to complete the crown...and you're done!

Ivy is so excited for her birthday!

From A Friend Friday: February 26th!

Happy Friday! Wow, can you believe it's the last Friday of February?! I'm excited for March and all the doll fun I have planned to share with you here. Now, let's take a look at the cute & creative pictures that were sent in...

From Groovydolls--It was almost 60 degrees earlier this week so Caroline went outside to enjoy the weather while it lasted. Outfit: Isabelle's coral sweater, Saige's sweater outfit tank top, Saige's sweater outfit leggings, American Girl boots, Claire's hair bow.

From Lois--Made these doll treats this week using directions from AmericanGirlFan. Took advantage of some 80 percent off sales on Valentines craft items to get a head start on next year's celebration. The fun just snowballed from there!
